Vairtual is a German virtual airline due to launch in 2022. The airline operates through a crowdfunding model, meaning travellers will invest capital for certain routes offering greater freedom and flexibility on destinations compared to traditional airlines. The airline states that if a route doesn't receive enough funding then the airline will cancel this and offer a full refund for any travellers who have invested. The airline doesn't operate its own aircraft and instead charters these from third-party airlines. Vairtual is committed to sustainability and offsets the carbon emissions produced by each flight through a partnership with Wilderness International. Vairtual is one of a few airlines in Germany aiming to begin operating sustainable services, the others being Flyv and Evia Aero.
Vairtual has different baggage rules for carry-on baggage and checked baggage.
All passengers are offered 1 item of cabin baggage included in their ticket. This should not weigh more than 8kg.
You are also allowed 1 checked case included in your airfare. The airline states that the maximum weight limit is 23kg and if you exceed this you may be required to pay an additional fee.
Vairtual will only offer an all-economy service on all of their routes. However, each passenger will experience the same service as there won't be any different fare types as a single 'VAIRbase' will be offered. All passengers will receive complimentary luggage, meals and drinks as well as seat selection at check-in.
It is unsure if inflight entertainment or wifi will be available as the airline don't operate their own aircraft. Depending on the route and aircraft operate, this may vary. We, therefore, recommend you bring your own entertainment.
All passengers are treated to complimentary meals, drinks and snacks on all of the airline's routes.
Vairtual's opening and closing check-in times haven't been announced yet.
Vairtual currently doesn't support online check-in via its website. As the airline hasn't yet launched operations this option isn't available. It is unsure if this will be supported upon the airline's launch.
It is unsure if the airline will operate airport check-in facilities or if this will be undertaken by the chartered airline. However, it is highly likely that once the airline launches airport check-in facilities will be available and more information on opening times will be published.
Vairtual doesn't currently offer a frequent flyer program for you to subscribe to. However, this could change upon the airline's launch in 2022.
The airline is not a member of any airline alliance.
As of February 2022, some of the destinations which the airline has stated it may offer include:
