Roschino International Airport to build new terminal
Roschino International Airport (TJM) is having a new terminal building built by Novaport Holding, a transport company that deals with regional airports within Russia. The new terminal will be 17,000 sq m and will allow for a significant increase in passenger growth. Roschino International Airport had a yearly passenger traffic of 1.8 million people in 2017, and with the new terminal, that number is expected to rise by nearly 20%, meaning the airport would handle 5 million passengers per year.
The airport recently underwent a five-year reconstruction project that saw passenger traffic grow from 250 people per hour to 600 people per hour. However, Novaport Holding felt that there's demand to further expand the airport and bring even more traffic in with the arrival of a new terminal.
Roschino International Airport is the hub of two different Russian airlines, one of them being the regional carrier, Yamal Airlines.

Yamal Airlines aims to become the largest in Siberia and the Far East
Yamal Airlines could become the largest in Siberia and the Far East in the next decade, says governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Dmitry Kobylkin.
"We are being asked in many cities of Russia, especially Siberia and the Far East, to open flights." Yamal "will become the largest operator in Siberia and the Far East on the fly," he said.
He noted that the regional airline will continue to replenish its fleet with SSJ-100s, with eight more due by end of 2018. In total, the carrier will operate 25 SSJs, with plans to potentially take more, according to the governner.
Yamal is also planning to buy new MS-21-300s, to replace A320 and A321, although no order has been placed yet.
Yamal operates scheduled and charter flights to cities in Russia and in other countries. The fleet is composed mainly of SSJ-100, A320, A321 and CRJ. Earlier it was reported that the airline will become an anchor in the Chelyabinsk airport.

Yamal Airlines finds APU maintenance solution for expanding fleet
Russian regional carrier Yamal Airlines, which is planning to enlarge its fleet with the addition of six Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft early next year, has awarded APU maintenance contracts to Tennessee, USA-based engineering repair specialist StandardAero. Yamal Airlines is headquarted in Salekhard, Yamalo-Nenetsk Autonomous District. Established in 1997, it operates an expanding array of regional passenger services from its main hub at Tyumen.
The two multi-year APU contracts include a three-year agreement to provide Honeywell-standard MRO services on Yamal’s fleet of 10 CRJ-200LR aircraft and a five-year agreement supporting Honeywell services on the carrier’s 10 SSJ100s. APU services will be provided at StandardAero’s Maryville, Tennessee facility. A Honeywell authorized service centre, StandardAero provides customers “with the most experience and comprehensive workmanship in the industry,” reads the company’s announcement. It serves a diverse range of customers in business and general aviation, supporting airline, military, and helicopter operators, as well as providing components, energy, and VIP completions markets. The company celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011.
StandardAero is an independent provider of aviation services, including engine and airframe maintenance, repair, and overhaul, engine component repair, engineering services, interior completions, and paint applications. Two years ago, it was acquired by Veritas Capital, a private equity firm headquartered in New York City, which invests in companies that provide “critical products and services” to government and commercial customers worldwide, including those operating in the aerospace and defense, health care, technology, national security, communications, energy, and education industries, says the statement.
“These long-term [Yamal Airlines] agreements, with one of the largest fleets of the new SSJ100 and a leading regional carrier in Russia, are a result of StandardAero’s reputation for delivering high quality, cost-effective services and our ability to support cross-product maintenance solutions for all of Yamal’s APU MRO service requirements,” stresses Peter Turner, president of StandardAero Airlines and Fleets.
