Baggage Policy

Equair has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage policy.

Personal Item

A backpack, purse or baby diaper bag is classified as a personal item.

The personal item must be able to fit under the front seat or be a disturbance to other passengers. It can not exceed the measurements of 45cm x 35cm x 25cm (Height, Length, Width).

Carry-on Baggage

Your carry-on luggage can not exceed the following measurements:

  • No heavier than 10 kilos.
  • It can't exceed the measurements of 55cm x 35cm x 25cm (Height, Length, Width), including any wheels or handles.
  • If you fail to meet the measurements mentioned above, it will be classified as checked-in baggage. (This will be classed as additional baggage, if you've already got checked baggage).

Checked Baggage

Every ticket fare is allowed 1 piece of free charge checked baggage that fits these measurements:

  • No heavier than 23 kilos.
  • It can't exceed the measurements of 158 linear centimetres (Height + Length + Width).
  • You shall be charged an additional value if you exceed the required weight and measurements. When paying the respective additional costs, the suitcase in no circumstances can exceed 300 linear centimetres.

Check-In

Equair passengers can check-in using their online check-in system or at the airport.

Online Check-in

The airline does provide online check in, so passengers can check-in before they arrive at the airport.

Airport Check-in

At Alternative Airlines, we advise you to arrive at the airport 2 hours before for domestic flights and 3 hours before the scheduled departure time for international flights. This is to avoid any disruption causing any delays to your journey and missing the airport check-in deadline.

Special Services

Under the following circumstances can you request special assistance - Physical, sensory or cognitive disability, reduced mobility, elderly, pregnancy, mother with baby.

If you require special assistance, please inform the airline 48 hours in advance, and this will be subject to availability. The assistance on offer includes:

  • Can use the special service counter at the airport.
  • Priority boarding.
  • In the baggage reception area of your destination, you will receive your luggage first.
  • Assistance going through the immigration and customs procedures.

Flying whilst pregnant

If you are over 40 weeks pregnant, you will not be allowed to board the plane. If you're pregnant and between 29-39 weeks, please submit a medical certificate including your dates of travel, destination and weeks of gestation.

Unaccompanied Children

Children under the age of 12 will have assistance provided whilst flying. Adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17, have the option to this service, if they require.

How does it work?
  • Whilst in the airport, the minor will be accompanied by an airline official, who will stay with them up until the boarding of the plane. Once they have boarded the plane, they'll be assigned a crew member who shall be attentive to the unaccompanied minor throughout the flight.
  • Once the plane has landed, an airline official will escort the minor through the arrival airport and help them retrieve their luggage. The airport official will stay with the unaccompanied child until they have reached the person authorised by their guardian.

This service costs $25 per route.

Please be aware - The crew onboard the Equair flights aren't permitted to supply medications or provide any special or medical assistance, so if the minor requires medical treatment or has a disability condition, this extra help will not be provided.

Airline Alliance

Equair isn't part of any airline alliances. It's unclear whether they'd be part of any global airline alliances in the future, more details will emerge if this changes.

Frequent Flyer Program

A frequent flyer programme isn't currently available for the airline. More details will follow if this changes.
