Calm Air International LP. is a regional airline based in Thompson, Manitoba, Canada and it is owned by the Exchange Income Corporation.

Calm Air operates to the following destinations including Churchill, Flin Flon, Gillam, The Pas, Thompson, Winnipeg, Arviat, Baker Lake, Chesterfield Inlet, Coral Harbour, Sanikuluaq, Rankin Inlet, Repulse Bay and Whale Cove.

The airline operates services in northern Manitoba and the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut and it's main base is Thompson Airport.

Calm Air have become Central Canada’s regional airline and has flights to some of Canada’s most popular and naturally beautiful regions in Manitoba and Nunavut.

Calm Air has codeshare agreements with Canadian North and First Air.



Calm Air Baggage

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers are permitted to 2 pieces of carry-on baggage each. The combined weight of these two must not exceed 9kg, and combined dimensions must not exceed 25 x 40 x 30cm.


Checked Baggage

Passengers travelling on flight series 100 to 199 are permitted 2 pieces of checked luggage, with a combined maximum weight of 32kg. The individual items must not weigh more than 23kg each, and measure a maximum of 158cm.

Passengers travelling on flight series 200 to 399 are permitted 3 pieces of checked luggage, with a combined maximum weight of 54kg. The individual items must not weigh more than 23kg each, and measure a maximum of 158cm.

Calm Air are yet to offer online check-in for their flights.


Airport Check-In

Calm Air recommends passengers to arrive at the airport in enough time to check in 90 minutes prior to departure. The check-in desk will close 45 minutes before departure.


Economy Class

Economy Class is the airline's only cabin class 

Economy Class Facilities

Passengers can order a range of free food, drink and snacks onboard the flight. On flights that are longer than two hours, passengers can also order hot meals.

Alcoholic drinks are available to purchase on select flights but are not complimentary.

There's no inflight entertainment available, other than in-flight magazines.

Economy Class Seats

Seats are set out in either a 1 x 2 or 2 x 2 formation. Each seat is designed to give enough space for a comfortable and relaxed journey.

Calm Air offers its passengers the AIR MILES® Reward Program to accumulate AIR MILES® reward miles by shopping at a wide variety of companies who are sponsors in the program.

Collectors can then redeem their miles for air travel or other free rewards such as entertainment and merchandise.

While passengers do not accumulate miles when flying with Calm Air, Calm Air is an official supplier to the Program whereby Collectors can redeem their miles for travel on Calm Air. Economy Class

Calm Air only provides one class of service for their flights; economy class. Also the service differs slightly depending on what aircraft you are flying in, economy class provides a great flying experience to keep you comfortable for your flight.

Economy Class Facilities

Passengers cannot select their seats on Calm Air flights. Instead, passengers can choose their seats on a first-come, first-served basis once on the plane. Therefore it is a good idea to arrive at the boarding gate early to get a seat where you want (families with small children, unaccompanied minors or those requiring special assistance will get priority boarding).

Passengers receive complimentary beverages, with the choice ranging from soft drinks, juice and coffee. A light snack is also offered to passengers, or a full meal for flights of 2 hours or more.

Economy Class Seats

The seats will depend on what aircraft you are flying in. On the smallest aircraft, there will only be 22 passengers, whereas on the biggest aircraft there will be 72.
