Buy City Airlines Flights with Alternative Airlines

City Airlines is a subsidiary airline of Lufthansa. Established in 2022, it aims to become a prominent player in the aviation industry. City Airlines aims to launch operations in 2024 and is set to be based at Munich Airport where it can provide essential connections between Munich and various cities across the European Union.

City Airlines obtained its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) in 2023. Its initial fleet will consist of up to 80 narrow-body aircraft, predominantly featuring Airbus A320s transferred from Lufthansa Cityline. The upcoming airline is strategically planning dual bases in Munich and Frankfurt.

Lufthansa has emphasised that the new subsidiary airline will aim to fill market gaps that aren't being addressed by its other subsidiary, Lufthansa Cityline.

Carry-on Baggage

Most airlines allow passengers to carry 1 piece of cabin baggage and 1 personal item (such as a purse or a laptop bag).

The size and weight restrictions for cabin baggage may vary however the common size limit is around 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 inches), and the weight limit typically cannot exceed 7-10kg (15-22 lbs).

Please note that these rules may differ from the airline's own baggage allowance rules - please contact the airline directly for more accurate information.

Checked Baggage

The number of checked bags allowed will depend on your ticket type, class of service and the airline's specific policy.

Airlines often have a maximum weight limit of 20-23kg per checked baggage (44-50 lbs). The linear dimensions (length + width + height) also cannot exceed 158 cm (62 inches).

Please note that these rules may differ from the airline's own baggage allowance rules - please contact the airline directly for more accurate information.

Cabin Classes

City Airlines will operate flights across the EU with a fleet of short-haul, narrow-body aircraft. This means it may only offer an economy-class cabin configuration.

Economy Class

Economy Class on Airbus A320s is designed to provide passengers with a comfortable and efficient travel experience. Typically configured in a standard layout, the cabin offers a seating arrangement in rows that feature ergonomic seats with a moderate recline for added comfort during the journey.
