Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) is a Swedish regional airline in Trollhättan. Braathens Regional Airlines is not to be confused with Braathens Regional Airways. The airline operates scheduled services to destinations in Finland, Norway and Sweden. Braathens Regional Aviation AB also operates charter services to more than 60 destinations all over Europe.

Braathens Regional changed its name to Braathens Regional Airlines in March 2016 and together with Braathens Regional Aviation started operating all flights for the virtual airline BRA Braathens Regional Airlines uniting the previously separated brands of Malmö Aviation and Sverigeflyg.

The airline is based at Malmo Airport, where a number of other airlines also operate such as Adria Airways, Ryanair, TUI fly Nordic and AIS Airlines.

Baggage Policy

Braathens Regional Airlines has different baggage allowances for carry-on and checked baggage.

Carry-on Baggage

Carry-on baggage is included on all fare types. The carry-on bag must not exceed the linear dimensions of 50 x 40 x 25 cm (19 x 15 x 9 in) and cannot weigh more than 8 kg (17 lbs).

As well as your carry-on bag, you can also take a personal item such as a laptop (placed in a small laptop bag), a small handbag, a small camera/binoculars or any reading material that can fit in a bag.

Other items allowed include umbrellas, baby food and medication.

Checked Baggage

Each checked bag mustn't weigh more than 23 kg (50 lbs) and cannot exceed the linear dimension of 158 cm (62 in) in length, width and height. The BRA Basic ticket only allows you to take one checked baggage, however, if you purchase the BRA Extra ticket, you are allowed to bring 2 bags per passenger.

Cabin Classes

Braathens Regional Airlines passengers can choose to fly in Economy Class or Business Class.

Economy Class

Economy class provides a good quality flight at a reasonable price.

Economy Class Facilities

On board the flight, all passengers will receive complimentary food and drink, although this will depend on the departure time and the flight duration. On flights before 9am, the airline will always offer breakfast to passengers. On flights after 9 am, passengers can enjoy a hot drink, water and a light snack.

What are Economy Class Seats Like?

Seats are set out in a 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 formation and give plenty of pitch and width, for a comfortable journey.

B.R.A Extra

B.R.A Extra is this airline’s equivalent of premium or business class. If you purchase this fare, you get access to the airport lounges, where you can fill up on tasty foods and snacks such as fresh fruit and confectionery. Tea and coffee are also available in the lounge, so passengers can be refreshed for their flight. There will also be entertainment such as newspapers and magazines on offer, and also access to complimentary wi-fi to stay updated with the world whilst you travel.

In-flight Entertainment & WIFI

Due to the short flight duration for the routes that BRA flies, there is no in-flight entertainment or WiFi on board. We recommend taking your own forms of entertainment for your journey. This can include books to read or pre-downloading your favourite TV shows and movies to your mobile phone, tablet or laptop.

Check-In

Braathens Regional Airlines passengers can check in online prior to the flight departure time. Alternatively, if you're unable to check in online you can check in at the airport.

Online Check-in

Online check-in is available for international flights on the official Braathens Regional Airlines check-in page. Online check-in is available 24 hours up until 15 minutes before the flight is scheduled to depart.

Airport Check-in

If you're checking in at the airport, you can use the self-service kiosk or the check-in counters to check in for your flight. Check-in at the airport is mainly for BRA domestic flights however you can also check in for international flights. Airport check-in opens 2 hours before departure.

Fleet

The Braathens Regional Airlines fleet currently consists of over 10 x ATR 72-600 aircraft. The ATR 72-600 can seat 72 passengers and is ideal for regional air travel.

The ATR 72 is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft manufactured for short-haul regional routes. The first flight for the ATR 72 was with Finnair and took place in 1989. To this day, the aircraft is still in production and is mainly used by Wings AirAzul Linhas AereasIndiGo and Air New Zealand.
