El Al Israel operates a different baggage policy depending on the cabin class that passengers purchase.
Economy Class passengers are allowed one piece of free carry-on baggage of up to 8kg.
Premium Class passengers are allowed two pieces of free carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg per piece and an overall weight of 12 kg.
Business Class passengers are allowed two pieces of free carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 16 kg for the first piece and 4 kg for the second piece.
First Class passengers are allowed two pieces of carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 16 kg for the first piece and 8 kg for the second piece.
Carry-on baggage must be no larger than the dimensions of 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm (22" x 17.7" x 9.8").
Economy Class Standard passengers are allowed one piece of free checked baggage of up to 23 kg.
Premium Class passengers are allowed two pieces of free checked baggage of up to 23 kg per piece.
Business Class passengers are allowed two pieces of checked baggage of up to 23 kg per piece.
First Class passengers are allowed three pieces of checked baggage of up to 32 kg per piece.
El Al Israel officially has 3 cabin classes - Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class. The airline used to operate first class but no longer does.
The airline offers a meticulously planned menu made with both creativity and nutrition in mind. All meals are accompanied by a choice of drinks and select wines. Passengers also have a great choice of in-flight entertainment options to help pass the time on the flight. Passengers can choose from 150 movies, 100 American TV and 250 Israeli TV series episodes, 200 music albums, audiobooks and games.
Passengers can enjoy comfortable and spacious seating with a good amount of legroom. Each seat is in-built with a USB and power sockets to charge your devices. The team will be on-hand to help. Passengers can enjoy 76–86 cm (30–34" of seat pitch and 43 cm of seat width (17").
Premium Economy, known as Premium Class has spacious seats, an advanced entertainment system and a dedicated premium service. The travel class is available to/from Newark, JFK, Hong Kong, Paris, London and Toronto airports on flights operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Passengers will be invited to check-in at dedicated check-in counters, away from the queues and can also enjoy a larger baggage allowance. Once onboard, passengers can take the pick from an impressive in-flight menu, with food served on porcelain dishes and a selection of the best wines from the Israeli region. Passengers can also enjoy selection of in-flight entertainment on an advanced AVOD entertainment system by Panasonic, all displayed on a personal 33 cm (13") touch screen TV.
Premium Class seats are ergonomically designed with 96 cm (38") of seat pitch, a dedicated footrest and a 49 cm (19.4") of legroom. There are also six different modes for the adjustable headrest, meaning everyone can find the position they need to sit comfortably onboard their flight.
Passengers are given access to the airline's King David Lounge at Tel Aviv, New York, Paris and London, where they'll have access to newspapers, snacks and even a Shizan spa treatment. Day or night, passengers have access to a delicious range of treats, wines and beers and to showers and massage chairs.
Passengers will be treated to a special Business Class dining experience, with complimentary food and drink. And, passengers are given access to the airline's in-flight entertainment system on a personal 16" HD touch-screen TV.
All of El-Al's Business Class seats have direct aisle access and passengers are able to choose between two types of seats single seats by the windows and double seats, which can be separated by a sliding door. All seats open up to a fully-flat bed of two metres, providing passengers with maximum room to stretch out when it's time to get some sleep. These comfortable beds also come with ergonomic pillows to make ensure maximum support for necks and shoulders.
As of 25th October 2019, El Al Israel Airlines stopped offering First Class on its flights. If passengers are looking for a high-class cabin with excellent service, they should opt for Business Class.
El Al Israel Airlines has different check-in opening and closing times depending on your method of check-in.
Passengers can check-in for their flight by using the El Al online check-in page and entering their booking number and surname. Passengers can check-in online between 24–3 hours before their scheduled flight departure time.
Passengers who are unable to check-in online or would prefer to check-in at the airport can do so by visiting one of the airport check-in desks at the airport of departure. Airport check-in closes one hour before flight departure time at all airports. However, it's recommended that passengers arrive at check-in at least three hours before their flight is scheduled to depart.
EL AL Israel's Frequent Flyer Club is called 'Matmid'.
The airline operates a frequent flyer program called Matmid Club to reward regular passengers by accumulating points from flights purchased. Passengers can spend points to purchase future flights and enjoy benefits and deals that are reserved only for Matmid members.
There are four tiers of membership: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Top Platinum. The higher tier of membership a passenger is, the greater benefits they receive.
