Manx2 offers low cost flights from the Isle of Man to eight domestic airports in the United Kingdom.
Manx2 Flights
Manx2 is the brand name for a low cost flight service which started flying on 15 July 2006 when flights from Isle of Man to Belfast and Blackpool were inaugurated. Since then the network has grown and now there are flights from IOM to Blackpool, Belfast-City, Leeds/Bradford, East Midlands, Gloucester and Jersey. Flights operate to and from the hub airport on IOM with flights to Jersey stopping at Gloucester en route.
All Manx2 flights are sold on a point to point basis, so that, if you are making a connection at any airport on their network, you must allow sufficient time between flights as as neither Manx2 nor the operating carrier will accept responsibility for the consequences of missed connections. Manx2 allows one piece of cabin baggage up to 10kgs and is subject to size restrictions, while all hold baggage and sports equipment is carried at extra cost. Flights are operated using Dornier 228 aircraft (on which every seat is a window seat), the Metroliner which is a speedy and fully pressurised commuter turbo prop and the LET 410 which is perfect for those "short hopper" flights.
Manx2 Isle of Man Flights
This really is a service that reaches the parts others don’t. Manx2 markets services to Gloucester airport which is just minutes away from the M5 which allows passengers to zoom down -or up the motorway, park their car and take off for Isle of Man or Jersey.
Manx2 is unique insomuch as they have absolutely no competition on the routes they fly. Nevertheless their fares offer very good value. Each destination from IOM has at least two flights per weekday with a reduced service on weekends. The Gloucester to Jersey route, however, has flights on Fri, Sat and Sunday only. Just the job for that relaxing Channel Island break. Although It is possible to fly between some city pairs with other carriers, this involves changes of aircraft or airline en route. With the hassle that brings... who need’s it??
As a "virtual airline" (meaning that it subcontracts its flight operations to selected regional airlines) Manx2 has established an interesting new domestic flight option in United Kingdom. Try them, and we think you will be impressed!
