About Cirrus Airlines
Cirrus Airlines was a German regional carrier based at Saarbrucken. It started as an executive charter operator and developed into one of Germany’s leading commuter carriers. From its base at Saarbrucken, it operated international scheduled services to Billund, Lugano, Chisinau, Salzburg, and Zurich.
Domestic destinations in Germany included: Berlin, Dresden, Erfurt, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Mannheim City Airport, Munchen-Gladbach, Munich, Saarbrücken and Usedom.
Cirrus Airlines was a well-financed, strong regional carrier with close links to both Lufthansa and Swiss International Air Lines. It was primarily a business airline with schedules, fares and on-board service tailored to this market. Cirrus Airlines operated one Boeing 73-500, five Dash-8, 8 Dornier 328 and 4 Embraer ERG (145’s and 170’s) for its fleet.
