What is Delta's Cancellation Policy?

Delta's cancellation policy states that you're qualified for a complete refund if you cancel your flight within 24 hours of purchasing your Delta Air Lines flight ticket. This is referred to as a 24-hour refund policy. If you booked a Delta Air Lines flight ticket with Alternative Airlines then you can cancel within 24 hours of your purchase, but, there are some important things that you need to know.

Please note that if you contact us outside of business hours to cancel your Delta Air Lines flight and the 24-hour window has elapsed by the time we've received your refund request, we may not be able to honour the 24-hour cancellation policy as Delta won't let us issue the refund.

Please contact us between 9am - 8pm UK time if you wish to cancel your Delta booking within the 24-hour cancellation window and receive a refund.

Can I Get a Refund for My Delta Cancellation?

Of course! You are entitled to receive a full refund for your Delta Air Lines flight as long as you cancel within the 24-hour window from the time of booking. You're able to cancel your booking for a refund through Alternative Airlines, but, please bear in mind that if you contact us outside of our opening hours (9am - 8pm GMT) and the 24-hour window has passed by the time we have received your refund request, we may not be able to issue out the 24-hour cancellation policy for you.

Cancellation Protection with Delta Airlines

Did you know that if an emergency circumstance prevents you from making it to your Delta Airlines flight, you can still receive a full refund? Well, with Cancellation Protection you can protect your booking. When you add Cancellation Protection to your booking then you'll be qualified for a full refund if you need to cancel your Delta Air Lines flight due to any unforeseeable circumstances. This includes the death of a close family member, government travel bans, illness or injury to yourself as well as other reasons.

You can add cancellation protection to your booking for a small additional price. This will make you feel more secure knowing that you're covered if one of these emergency circumstances occur.

How to Add Cancellation Protection to a Delta Booking

1. First of all, use the search box at the top of the page and enter your departure and arrival destinations along with the dates you plan to fly, the number of passengers and the cabin class you'd like to fly in. Hit 'Search Flights' to continue.

2. If you wish to fly with a particular airline (e.g. Delta) then you can use the 'Airline' tab to filter down your search. Once you've selected Delta as your preferred option then you'll only be displayed with Delta flights.

3. Enter the required passenger details and scroll down until you reach the Cancellation Protection stage. Select 'Yes, protect my booking' in order to apply an added layer of protection to your flight with Delta.

4. To secure your booking, choose the payment method that best suits you. If you request a full refund from the 24-hour cancellation policy or from Cancellation Protection, you'll have the refund sent in the same way you paid when you orginally made the booking.

What is the Cancellation Policy for Delta Air Lines?

If you cancel your booking with Delta Air Lines within 24 hours of the original booking then you'll get a full refund for your flight. You won't be entitled to a complete refund after the 24-hour period has passed.

We advise that you cancel your Delta Air Lines flight ticket through Alternative Airlines during office opening hours so that we can offer a full refund if you do so within the 24-hour cancellation policy window. If you contact us after business hours, we might not get your refund request and the 24-hour window might have passed, in which case we won't be able to honour the 24-hour refund policy.

 

 

I've cancelled my Delta Air Lines booking - why haven't I received a refund?

You'll not be entitled if you decide to scrap your booking after the 24-hour window has elapsed. This is because the airline won't send us your refund for us to process and send back to you as we are following the airline's policies. We have no other choice but to follow the airline's policies and have no influence over what the airline says.

Alternative Airlines is open from 9am - 8pm UK time (GMT). If your 24-hour cancellation period for your Delta Air Lines closes whilst we are closed and you contact us during this time, then you won't be qualified for a refund. In order to receive a refund you must contact us during opening hours.
