How can I use Zip to pay for flights?
To use Zip to pay for flights, find the flight that you want to buy on the Alternative Airlines website and select Zip at select Zip as the payment page. If it’s your first time shopping with Zip, you’ll need to enter some personal details such as name, date of birth, mobile phone number and home address. Take care when entering your personal details as errors may prevent Zip from being able to verify your account or send you payment notifications. Once approved, and you are happy with the instalment schedule, Zip will take the first instalment from the UK card you supplied when signing up. Once you've made your first payment, your booking will be confirmed and your e-ticket will be sent to you right away.
Am I eligible to use Zip?
In order to use Zip, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Be over the age of 18
- To have a UK issued debit card
- To be living in the UK
- To have a good credit history
Will using Zip have an impact on my credit score?
No, your credit score is not impacted. Zip carries out a soft credit check with credit reference agencies to determine if you are eligible. This doesn’t impact your credit score.
Is my Zip payment information safe?
Your Zip payment information is safe as it is securely processed by Zip's payment gateway provider which is in line with the latest security protocols and industry standards.
How is my Zip payment processed?
Payment information is processed securely by Zip’s payment gateway provider. All transactions take place via secured connections that adhere to the latest industry standards and security protocols.
What happens if I don’t pay for my order?
Zip will automatically attempt to collect payment for your Pay In 4 purchase from the card you entered when you signed up to Zip. If you miss a scheduled payment, Zip will give you 2 full days to process the payment yourself. On the third day after the payment was missed we will retry this payment again, if this retry is unsuccessful, Zip will apply a £6 late fee to the instalment. Zip makes it easy to manage your payments. A payment can be made by you at any time by logging into your Zip customer portal. Please make sure you have money in your account in advance of your payments coming out.
Zip will contact you directly by email and SMS in advance every time as a reminder.
What happens if I cancel my flight ticket order?
Once Alternative Airlines has notified Zip of the cancellation, Zip will cancel any scheduled payments. Any refunds due (depending on ticket and airline fare rules) will be refunded in 10-15 business days. Any partial refunds will be applied to any outstanding instalments first.
Is there really no interest applied and no extra fees when payments are made on time?
Nope! This is what makes Zip special. It isn’t like traditional finance companies. As long as you pay your scheduled payments on time, you will only pay the price displayed at checkout.
When will my payments be due?
Payments are automatically scheduled to be taken every 2 weeks. You’ll pay 25% of the full price upfront, then 25% every 2 weeks for the next 6 weeks. Zip will try to take payment during the day and try again if unsuccessful. How long do I have to pay back the cost of my flight?
You'll pay 25% of your full flight ticket upfront and then 25% every 2 weeks for the next 6 weeks.

Is Zip available outside of the UK?
Alternative Airlines accepts Zip in Australia and in the UK. Make sure that you're searching in the correct currency (GBP or AUD), otherwise, Zip won't show at checkout.
Can I use Zip to pay for domestic flights?
Yes, Zip can be used to pay for domestic flights in any country, the flights don't have to be within the country that you're buying from.
Can Zip be used to pay for airlines that aren’t from the UK?
Yes, you can pay with Zip when you buy flights on any airline on the Alternative Airlines' website. The airline can be from any country and doesn't have to match the country that you're buying from.
Can Zip be used to pay for international flights?
Yes, Zip can be used as a payment method for international flights that fly anywhere in the world. As long as you can find the flights on the Alternative Airlines website, it doesn't matter where you're flying to and from and you can use Zip to pay.
