If you've made the wrong booking or can no longer travel on a flight you've paid for, you might decide you'd prefer to cancel your flight. If this is the case for you, Alternative Airlines is here to help. There are two easy options to help you cancel your flight booking:
1. Self-service flight cancellation via 'Manage my booking'
Sign-in online via 'Manage my booking' using your booking reference. Within just a few clicks, you can quickly and easily cancel your flights. Before you choose to proceed with your cancellation, we'll display the total refund that you'll be entitled to, based on the fare rules of your airline.
Note that many flight tickets are non-refundable, as per the airline's terms and conditions.
2. Contact us
You can also contact us through our contact page and we'll explain to you the policy of your airline/ticket and whether you can get any money back.
Although every airline has a different policy, many airlines will allow you to cancel flight tickets within 24 hours and give you a refund, even if you've bought a non-refundable airline ticket. If you've bought an airline ticket and want to cancel it on the same day, you can do so easily via 'Manage my booking'. Airline terms and conditions apply.

If you need to cancel your flight because of a family emergency, don't hesitate to contact us and we'll let the airline know. Yes. You can cancel flight tickets. However, if you haven't purchased a fully refundable ticket, you may not be entitled to a refund. In some instances, the airline may apply a cancellation fee.
Whether the ticket fare is refundable will depend on the conditions of the ticket. A refund can only be provided for the value of the ticket. Payment processing fees, cancellation protection and baggage protection fees are non-refundable. Cancelling flights can incur a cancellation fee, as levied by the airline.
You can sign in via 'Manage booking' at the top of the page and easily submit a cancellation request. This option is only available with eligible airlines. Alternatively, you can cancel your flight by contacting us through our contact page and detailing your reasons for cancelling.
Only the airline itself can cancel the flight. As a travel agency, we have to adhere to the rules and regulations of each airline. We'll always contact the airline for you, explain the situation and try and get you your money back. However, only the airline itself can cancel the flight.
Cancelling flights can incur a fee. A cancellation fee charged is sometimes charged by the airline, depending on the terms and conditions of your ticket. If you purchase a fully-refundable flight ticket, this fee may not apply.
You might be wondering why you would pay money to cancel a flight that you're not flying on. However, if you've bought a return ticket and you don't show up for the outbound flight without cancelling your flight, some airlines will automatically cancel the return flight. So, if you intend on using the return ticket, it might best to pay to cancel your outbound flight, as it will save you money in the long-term.
Yes. You can cancel your flight after check-in or at any time before the flight. However, unless you have a refundable airline ticket, it's unlikely that you'll get any money back.
Yes. You can cancel flights on Southwest. You can either buy a refundable Southwest flight, cancel and get your money back at any time before the flight. Or, if you have bought a non-refundable Southwest flight, you might be able to get your money back if you contact or submit a cancellation request on the day that you bought your flight. If you contact us after this time and you have purchased a non-refundable airline ticket, you'll most likely not be able to get your money back when cancelling the Southwest flight.
You can cancel Spirit Airlines flights at any time, but you might not be able to get your money back if you have a non-refundable Spirit flight ticket.
You can cancel your flight for any reason, but you won't receive any money back if you cancel your flight due to pregnancy. The only way you might be able to get money back after you cancel your flight is if you buy travel insurance. However, make sure that your insurance covers pregnancy.

If your flight is cancelled due to weather, you might be entitled to a refund. It will usually depend on the airlines' policy. When you book your flights through Alternative Airlines, we offer the option to add Cancellation Protection to your booking. Yes! As well as contacting our Customer Service Team, you can also request to cancel your booking by signing into 'Manage my booking' (at the top of the page), and easily submitting a cancellation request. This option is only available with eligible airlines.
