Erbil International Airport

Erbil International Airport is an international airport situated in the city of Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Although it's not part of the Mesopotamian region, it's the closest airport to the city of Mosul. Mosul used to be served by Mosul International Airport, however, due to being captured by ISIL militants in 2014, the airport could no longer be used as a civilian airport. The airport has since been recaptured by the Iraqi government and is in the process of reconstruction and rehabilitation. Mosul is 88km away from Erbil International Airport.
