The Congolese Franc (CDF) is the official currency of the Democratic Republic of Congo. There were two editions of the Franc: the first was introduced in 1887 and had the same value as the Belgian Franc; and the second edition, which is the current Congolese Franc, was re-introduced in 1997. There are no coins; denominations are issued in banknote form only, including 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 centimes, and 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000 francs.
