The Qatari Riyal (QAR) comes in various denominations which are divided into coins and banknotes. A Riyal, is made up of 100 Dirhams, which come as coin.

These coins come in the denominations of 1 dirham, 5 dirhams, 10 dirhams, 25 dirhams, and 50 dirhams, which tend to be used for smaller purchases. For banknotes it comes in higher denominations, including 1 riyal, 5 riyals, 10 riyals, 50 riyals, and 100 riyals.
