Air Arabia Abu Dhabi is founded in 2019 and planned to launch during autumn 2020. However, because of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) was only issued in April 2020. Hence, the launch date is likely to be in June 2020.

The airline is a low-cost carrier (LCC) that is based in and out of Abu Dhabi International Airport. Air Arabia and Etihad Airways set up a joint-venture to start the airline. Air Arabia also has other subsidiaries including Air Arabia Egypt, Air Arabia Maroc, Air Arabia Jordan.

The Airbus A320-200 is likely to form the airline's fleet and potentially serving destinations in Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Armenia, India, Pakistan, Ukraine, Georgia and Saudi Arabia.


Destinations

As of July 2020, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi is operating to two destinations from Abu Dhabi. These two destinations are Alexandria and Sohag in Egypt and will commence operations on the 14th July, 2020.

The airports that the airline will fly to from Abu Dhabi International Airport are Borg El Arab International Airport (HBE) and Sohag International Airport (HMB).
