Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (IATA code: MAD) is commonly known as Madrid–Barajas Airport, or Madrid International is the main international airport serving Madrid, in Spain. The airport is a primary hub for Iberia, which is responsible for more than 40% of the traffic at MAD. The airport is also a hub for Air Europa.
The airport opened back in 1928, today is one of the most important aviation centres of Europe. MAD has five passenger terminals: T1, T2, T3, T4 and T4S.

The airport is located within the city limits of Madrid, just 13 km (8 mi) northeast of the Puerta del Sol or Plaza Mayor de Madrid, Madrid's beautiful historic centre.
Postal Services: Mail drop boxes can be found in T1, T2 and T4
Family Servcies: Breastfeeding Lounges can be found in T4 and T2 and provide changing tables, microwaves, cots, a play area, and comfortable seating. There is also a childrens play area in T2
Eating and Drinking: There are food concessions throughout the airport, including Starbucks, Eating Point, and Espression Lavazza, as well as over 250 vending machines
Shopping: Duty-free shopping is available throughout all terminals, as well as a numner of retail shops.
Luggage Storage: Available throughout the terminals.
Mobile Charging: There are stations for charging digital devices within T4, and T4S, as well as at Mahoudrid coffee shop in T1.
ATMs: ATM chash machines are available throughout the terminals. Banking services are also provided by Bankia (T2 & T4).

Air Rooms: There are 22 Air Roomes located inside Terminal 4 (Landside, Floor 1). Rooms can be booked for short-term day use (3 or 6 hours) between 10am and 6pm, or overnight. Showers are available, with a shower kit consisting of a towel and slippers are provided.

The airport has five terminals: T1, T2, T3, T4 and T4S. T1, T2 and T3 are located in the same building. T4 and T4S are in a seperate building which is connected by train and shuttle busses. T4 is the newest and most modern terminal building. T1 houses the low-cost carrier airlines, and has fewer seats and facilities.
Travel between terminals: It is quick and easy to travel between the airport's terminals. Shuttle buses and the Automatic People Mover train (the longest airport people mover system in Europe) connects all terminal buildings.

By Bus
There are several bus lines that run from the airport to central Madrid, and local locations with connections to the rest of Spain. Bus options include city buses, intercity buses, and long distance coaches.
By Train
From T4, Line C1 of Renfe Cercanias connects passengers from the airport directly to top locations in Madrid.
By Underground
The underground Metro Line 8 departs from all of MAD's terminals to the Nuevos Ministerios station in central Madrid. The travel time to Nuevos Ministerios station from the airprot is just about 12 to 15 minutes.
By Car Rental
There are a number of car rental companies with rental facilities on-site, with counters located in Terminal 1 and Terminal 4. Companies include: Avis/Budget, Europcar/Interrent, Hertz/Firefly, Enterprise, Gold, and Sixt.
