Arik Air

  • Arik Air operates one of the most extensive networks in Nigeria, including domestic, regional and international flights.
  • Arik Air has two major hub airports: Murtala Muhammed International Airport, in Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, in Abuja.

Air Peace

  • Air Peace Airways is a private Nigerian airline, based in Lagos. The airline, which is dedicated to providing a high-class experience for passengers but at affordable prices, serves all the major cities of Nigeria, as well as flying to several West African destinations and the Middle East.
  • The airline also has a subsidiary, Air Peace Hopper, which was founded in 2018 and is used for smaller domestic and regional routes in Nigeria.

Aero Contractors

  • Aero Contractors, (known locally as ‘Aero’) is a state-owned and Nigerian airline, based at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, which serves Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State.
  • The airline is solely a domestic airline, connecting commercial hubs and providing locals with reliable, quick transportation between Nigeria’s biggest cities.

Overland Airways

  • Overland Airways is an airline based in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
  • The airline also has a secondary hub at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, in Abuja, and also connects all major cities in Nigeria.

Dana Air

  • Dana Air is a small Nigerian airline, also headquartered in Ikeja, at Lagos's Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
  • As well as flying to Accra, ad Abuja, the airline also flies to: Owerri, Port Harcourt, and Uyo.

Max Air

  • Max Air is a Nigerian airline based in Kano, in Nigeria, with its main hub at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (KAN). The airline is the country's longest-serving international airline.
  • From KAN, the airline flies to a number of domestic destinations in Nigeria: Yola, Sokoto, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Maiduguri, Madinah, Katsina, Bauchi, Katsina.

Ibom Air

  • Ibom Air is another government-owned ran airline, owned by the Akwa Ibom State. Being from the Akwa Ibom State, the airline is based at Victor Attah International Airport, which is in Uyo.
  • The airline connects the Akwa Ibom State with key destinations across Nigeria, including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Calabar.

Azman Air

  • Azman Air Services Limited is a privately owned airline, based at Kano, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
  • Some of the destinations that the airline flies to in Nigeria include: Asaba, Maiduguri, Birnin Kebbi, Gombe, and Port Harcourt.

Green Africa Airways

  • Green Africa Airways is one of the newer airlines in Nigeria. It launched in 2021.
  • Green Africa Airways is based in Lagos and flies to several major destinations across the country, including Port Harcourt, Abua, Owerri, Akure and more.

Kanem Air

  • Kanem Air is also newer local airline in Nigeria. It launched in 2022, is based at Maiduguri (MIU) Airport and currently only offers domestic flights within the country to destinations such as Kano, Lagos, Yola, Osun, as well as some others.

ValueJet

  • ValueJet is a new startup airline based in Nigeria. The airline was founded in 2018 but launched its first flights at the beginning of October 2022.
  • ValueJet is based at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport and flies to around 8 destinations within Nigeria, including Abuja, Asaba, Kano and Jos, among others.

Rano Air

  • Rano Air is a Nigerian airline founded in 2019. It operates domestic flights within Nigeria with routes between Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Kaduna, Sokoto and Maiduguri.
  • Rano Air is based at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

Defunct Airlines

Air Nigeria

Air Nigeria was the national flag carrier of Nigeria, before ceasing operating in 2012. After the airline stopped operating, a number of private airlines sprung up to take-over the routes previously operated by the airline.

IRS Airlines Limited

IRS Airlines Limited was an airline based in Abuja, Nigeria, before ceasing operations in 2013. The airline flew to destinations including Akwa Ibom, Kano, Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Jos, Calabar, Maiduguri. Today, Arik Air and Air Peace operate many of these routes.

Bellview Airlines

Bellview Airlines was an airline headquartered in Ikeja, Lagos State. It operated flights within Africa as well as to London. However, the airline ceased all operations in 2009.
