STETH is a token representing staked Ether (ETH) on the Lido platform. Lido is a decentralised liquid staking protocol for Ethereum, meaning it allows users to participate in Ethereum's Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism without locking their ETH for an extended period.
Each STETH token represents 1 ETH that has been deposited and staked on Lido. Unlike regular staked ETH, which is locked until withdrawals are enabled on Ethereum 2.0, STETH tokens are freely tradable and usable in DeFi applications.

Liquid Staked Ether (STETH) is a token representing staked Ether (ETH) on the Lido platform. Lido is a decentralised liquid staking protocol for Ethereum's Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. With STETH, users can automatically accrue staking rewards like regular staked ETH.
Liquid Staked Ether (STETH) can be purchased from centralised exchanges such as Coinbase, Kraken and Binance, or decentralised exchanges such as Uniswap and SushiSwap. It can also be directly bought from Liquid Staking platforms like Lido.
STETH is the currency code for Liquid Staked Ether.
