Alternative Airlines has recently partnered with Slice Pay, the handy layaway that makes financing your flights a breeze.
Slice Pay lets you put a deposit on your flights, which totals 5% of the ticket total (10% US customers). That way, you can secure your flights months in advance. Pay for your summer flights with January's pricing! Once you've put your deposit down, you'll pay for the rest of your tickets in up to 26 weekly instalments.
Unlike the abovementioned options, Slice Pay is not a Buy Now, Pay Later. One way of looking at it is that Buy Now Pay Later lenders help you pay back your flights, while Slice Pay lets you pay for them. With Slice Pay, you'll have paid for your flights in full before departure, meaning no lingering costs during your vacation!

Can I pay for my flights in instalments?
Yes! At Alternative Airlines, you can select from 20+ Buy Now Pay Later options at checkout to pay for your flights in instalments.
The Buy Now Pay Later lenders at checkout are subject to your country of residency.
What airlines offer Fly Now Pay Later?
All of them, as long as you're booking with Alternative Airlines. While many airlines don't offer Buy Now Pay Later directly, you can still spread the cost of your flights by booking with a trusted third party such as ourselves.
At Alternative Airlines, eligibility doesn't depend on the airline but rather on your country of residency. For example, if you're living in the United States and you want to fly with Japan Airlines, you'll be able to do so as you'll see Buy Now Pay Later options like Klarna and Sezzle at checkout. However, if you're living in Japan and you want to fly on American Airlines, you unfortunately won't be eligible to Fly Now Pay Later, as we aren't currently partnered with any Japanese Buy Now Pay Later lenders.
How do I pay for my flights and pay later?
At Alternative Airlines, paying later is simple. Just scroll to the search bar at the top of the page, select your destination, dates, airline, cabin class, etc., and then go to checkout. Here, you'll have the option to pay immediately in full or to select one of the available Buy Now Pay Later options.
What happens if I miss one of my payments?
This depends on the Buy Now Pay Later that you've selected. Different payment providers have different policies. However, you may be subject to additional fees if a payment isn't made on time.
Can a Buy Now Pay Later affect my credit score?
Yes, if you frequently miss payments when using a Buy Now Pay Later, this can negatively affect your credit score. Make sure to read the terms and conditions of the Buy Now Pay Later you're using to see whether late payments could negatively impact your financial future.
Can I fly now pay later with no credit check?
Yes. Some of the Buy Now Pay Later lenders we're partnered with don't check your credit or only do soft credit checks. Details on whether they do or don't will be made clear to you at checkout.
Another option to consider is Slice Pay, a lay-by product that lets you pay for your flights over time without any credit checks. This means you can pay for your flights over time, even with bad credit! If you're a resident of the United States, Australia, or New Zealand, you'll see Slice Pay at checkout.
Can I cancel my flights if I used a Buy Now Pay Later?
Yes, you can cancel your flights and may be refunded even if you selected a Buy Now Pay Later plan. To be eligible for a refund, you must either have purchased a refundable ticket or Alternative Airlines' cancellation protection, which refunds you if you have to cancel because of an emergency (illness, delays, jury service, etc.).
Are there interest-free payment options?
Yes, many of our Buy Now Pay Later partners charge 0% interest. These plans tend to be short-term, spanning a couple of months. Plans that are a little longer, 3 months and more, will often include a small amount of interest. Be sure to check the terms and conditions of your plan at checkout.
Is it safe to use Buy Now Pay Later to book flights?

Can I fly before fully paying off my ticket?
Yes. With some Buy Now Pay Laters, especially the more long-term ones, you'll still be paying off your flights even after departure. This leaves you with more money to spend on your trip and ensures you don't have to worry about hastily paying off your tickets before your flight.
This is something that sets a Buy Now Pay Later apart from a layaway, like Slice Pay. With Slice Pay, you'll have finished all payments before departure, or your flights will be cancelled.
