Congo Airways

Congo Airways is the national flag carrier of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The airline first commenced operations on 20 October 2015, using two Airbus A320 aircraft that it acquired from Alitalia.

Congo Airway is 100% state-controlled and owned by the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and was established to foster greater socio-economic integration by creating a better connected and more efficient transportation network. The airline is based at N'djili Airport in Kinshasa, from which it serves domestic Congolese destinations. The airline has a long-term plan to expand its fleet and serve more international markets. The airline currently has a number of E190-E2 jets on order, expected to be delivered in 2022.

The airline is currently the only national carrier of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Although, a 2nd national carrier named Air Congo has been proposed to launch in 2022.
