Singapore Changi Airport is an international airport in Changi, Singapore. The airport facilitates flights across Asia, Europe, North America and Africa. The airport has spectacular facilities and is regarded as one of the best airports in the world — being voted as the world's best airport every year since 2013 in the SkyTrax awards.

Singapore Changi Airport is located in Changi, which is on the eastern side of Singapore. It takes between 15–30 minutes to drive from the airport from the Central Area and Marina Bay.

Runways

Singapore Changi has three runways. Runways 02L/20R and 02C/20C are used for commercial flights, while 02R/20L is used for military flights. Runway 02L/20R is usually used for arrivals and 02C/20C is usually used for departures.

Terminals

Singapore Changi has four terminals, numbered 1–4. The terminals have the capacity to carry up 85 million passengers per year. The airport also has a private luxury terminal, the JetQuay CIP Terminal and has plans to open a Terminal 5 in the 2030s.

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 is the oldest terminal currently active at the airport, opening in 1981. Terminal 1 is located north of the airport. It underwent a major renovation in 2019.

Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is located east of the airport and opened in 1990.

Terminal 3

Terminal 3 is located west of the airport and opened in 2008.

Terminal 4

Terminal 4 is the newest terminal at the airport, opening in 2017. The terminal is located south of the airport.

How to get to Singapore Changi Airport

By Driving

Car parking and car rental are available at the airport. The airport can be reached off of Airport Boulevard. From there, follow the directions to the terminal that you need. If you're being dropped off, there are designated pick-up points at each terminal.

By Bus

Public buses run frequently to Singapore Changi Airport from the city. Bus routes 24, 27, 34, 36, 53, 110 and 858 run to terminals 1, 2 and 3. Bus routes 24, 34, 36 and 110 run to Terminal 4.

By Rail

You can get to Singapore Changi Airport by train by taking the East West Line to Tanah Merah MRT Station and then change to Changi Airport MRT Station. Or, you take the Downtown Line to Expo MRT Station and then change to Changi Airport MRT Station.

By Taxi
