RonanAir is a startup airline set to provide scheduled passenger flights within Hungary. The airline states that it is still currently in 'stage one' of its ‘growth trajectory’, with a short-term plan to provide direct flights to ‘niche’ European destinations. Eventually, the airline has a vision to expand its global air connectivity, providing brand new connections around the world.
The airline has been launched by a Sri Lankan-based company, 'R-Group', which is chaired by Rohan Nanayakkara, who is also an Honorary Consul of Hungary. Business support will be provided to the airline from the company’s base in Sri Lanka.
The airline will operate from its hub at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport.
RonanAir is a new airline and has yet to commence flights. As of September 2020, the airline is not currently operational. Initial phases will see RonanAir fly to approximately 11 European destinations, and consecutive phases will eventually include Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.
The airline has yet to publish a list of destinations and flight schedules. However, the airline has listed the following countries as ‘featured’ destinations: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, France, Italy, Romania, Switzerland and Ukraine.

Economy passengers: 20KG (One Piece Only)
The maximum weight of all bags is 50 lb (23 kg), and maximum dimensions per bag are: H: 90cm x W: 60cm x L: 40cm
Passengers will be able to carry 1 standard bag and 1 personal item onto the aircraft. Passengers can also carry a coat, small purse, and an infant care item, such as a small collapsible stroller.
Online check-in is not currently available for this airline.
Check in opens 2 hours prior to flight departure, and closes 45 minutes prior to flight departure.
The airline has stated that it will operate a full-service business model, although exact fares have yet to be detailed it has been confirmed that there will be two cabin classes: Economy and Premium Economy
This will be the largest cabin. On-board, the airline will strive to actively promote Hungarian culture, through on-board magazines, Hungarian cuisine and duty-free products.
Available on flights to selected destinations, passengers who upgrade to Premium will be able to indulge in extra benefits, including choosing from the airline’s Premium menu to priority boarding, all of which make a journey extra special.
The airline will have a frequent flyer membership program, along with a ‘50 Plus Club’, and special membership for children, called ‘Kids Club’. However, more information has yet to be announced.
The airline is not part of an airline alliance program.
The airline will fly Bombardier CRJ200 and Airbus aircraft.
