Mango Airlines, often referred to as Mango, was a low-cost airline based in South Africa. Its hub airport was the OR Tambo International Airport. Mango Airlines operated domestic flights within South Africa and served destinations such as Cape Town, Durban, East London, George and Johannesburg. Mango also flew to Zanzibar in Tanzania before it was officially grounded in July 2021.
Unfortunately, Mango Airlines ceased operations in July 2021 and has its licence suspended in August 2022 - this means you won't be able to book Mango flights at Alternative Airlines and spread the cost of your Mango tickets over time. However, you can still book flights with airlines that operate similar routes to Mango (e.g., South African Airways and FlySafair) on the Alternative Airlines site and pay for your flights over time using one of the many flexible payment methods we offer at checkout, such as Afterpay, Klarna, Affirm and Laybuy, among others. Can I pay for Mango flights in instalments?

Mango Airlines ceased operations in July 2021 - this means you won't be able to book Mango flights on our site and pay later. But you can still book flights with alternative airlines to Mango and split the cost of your tickets up when you book through Alternative Airlines - for example, you can book your South African Airways flights today and pay over time on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis, depending on the flexible payment plan you chose at checkout!

Can I pay for Mango flights using Afterpay?
Afterpay is one of the most popular flexible payment methods we offer at Alternative Airlines - it lets you split the cost of your flights into 4 equal interest-free payments to be paid back over a 6 week period. Since Mango Airlines is no longer operating, you won't be able to use Afterpay as a payment method, however, you can use Afterpay to spread the cost of tickets with airlines that fly similar routes to Mango, such as Ethiopian Airlines or Kenya Airways. To use Afterpay, you'll need to be a resident of the United States and pay in USD.

Can I use Klarna for Mango Airlines flights?
Klarna is another incredibly popular payment method that we offer here at Alternative Airlines. Residents of the United States, the United Kingdom and many countries in Europe can book flights today and pay later using Klarna. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use Klarna to pay later for your Mango flights as Mango Airlines ceased operations in July 2021. You can still book flights within South Africa with similar airlines to Mango, such as FlySafair and Uganda Airlines, while paying later with Klarna. Klarna lets you pay for your flights within 30 days, pay in 3 instalments or pay monthly for up to 6 months!

Can I pay for Mango Airlines flights using Affirm?
With Affirm, you can pay for your flights in monthly instalments over a 3, 6 or 12 month period. In order to use Affirm you'll need to be residing in the US and pay for your flights in USD. Mango Airlines stopped operating flights in July 2021 - this means you won't be able to book Mango flights and pay later at Alternative Airlines. You can instead book your flights on finance with an alternative airline to Mango such as Kenya Airways or Air Zimbabwe.

Can I pay for Mango flights with Laybuy?
Residents of the UK, Australia and New Zealand can use Laybuy at checkout to book flights today and pay later at Alternative Airlines. Unfortunately, you cannot use Laybuy to book Mango flights are Mango Airlines ceased operations in July 2021. Laybuy will instead be available for flights operated by similar airlines to Mango, including South African Airways and FlySafair. Laybuy lets customers spread the cost of their flight tickets into 6 weekly interest-free payments.

Can I pay for Mango Airlines flights in instalments?
No, unfortunately not. This is because Mango Airlines stopped operating flights in July 2021. Don't worry! You can still book flights with alternative airlines to Mango, such as South African Airways and Kenya Airways, and pay later with one of the many flexible payment plans we offer at checkout, including Afterpay, Affirm, PayPal Credit and more. Different payment methods will appear at checkout depending on your country of residence and the currency you pay in.
