Air Sunshine was established in 1982 and is a small airline with its main base at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the United States.
The airline also has a Caribbean hub located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and mostly operates short flights connecting popular destinations within the Caribbean.

'Sun Pass' is the name of the airline's frequent flyer program. When passengers travel six times (round trip) in 18 months, to and from any destinations operated by Air Sunshine, the seventh trip will be free of charge (except for taxes and fees).
Because of the size and design of the aircraft, the airline can only accommodate passengers that are able to climb steps to access the cabin. Assistance is available upon request; however, regulations mean that it is not possible for employees to lift or carry. Wheelcahirs can be requested to travel through the airport once the passenger has departed from the plane; please contact our customer service team to find out more.
Children under the age of 2 are permitted to sit on the lap of a full-paying adult. A child seats can be used if the parent wishes to purchase an additional seat, and will need to provide a FAA/DOT approved child seat.
The airline operates a number of scheduled services to destinations including San Juan and Vieques, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Anguilla, Dominica, Saint Maarten, Nevis, St. Kitts, Tortola and Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands, and Saint Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands.
