West Wing Aviation is a regional airline that has scheduled and charter flights out of its hub base, Cairns Airport (TSV) in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. The airline was founded in 2000 and commencing operations later that same year. The founder of the airline, Peter Collings was once the owner of the airline operation rinning in Queensland dating back to 1992. The airline started by providing small commute flights around the Queensland area. In 2015, the airline was requested to temporarily take over Cape York flights in Queensland's as Skytrans Airlines shut down. A deal was made that West Wing Aviation would buy out Skytrans and would be resurrected. Later that same year Skytrans would resume under a new brand. The airline carrier maintains its bases in Cairns and Mount Isa.

The airline currently operates regularly scheduled flights services to destinations throughout the north and west of Queensland, in addition to Palm Island and the Torres Strait.

In total, the airline has a fleet of 11 turboprop aircraft ranging from all from Cessnas and Beechcraft.

Baggage Policy

Carry-on Baggage

Cape York Flights: 2 pieces of carry-on baggage with a combined weight should not be more than 6 kg.

Torres Strait Island Flights: 1 carry-on baggage and weight not exceeding 4 kg.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage on all flights shouldn't go above 20 kg in overall.

An additional charge will apply for extra baggage and no baggage over 32 kg will be permitted by the airline because of the Health and Safety policy.

Cabin Classes

Economy Class

The airline mainly has small flights and there's only one cabin class that is offered on the aircraft and that is the standard Economy class. The airline gives its passengers a range of amenities such as the one free checked piece of baggage and the option of choosing your seat. On the flight, you can stay entertained and enjoy having a read of the Skytrans magazine.

Seats

Seats are positioned in a 1 x 1 formation depending on the aircraft, ensuring that each passenger will sit by a window and an aisle.

Check-In Information

Online Check-In

Online check-in is available through the airline's website and you would need to input in your reservation number as well as your full name. Online check-in opens 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time.

Any passengers who are travelling with an infant, special assistance or in groups of more than 10 in one booking can't check-in online.

Airport Check-In

Airport check-in counters close 30 minutes prior to the flight departure unless passengers are travelling from Lockhart River as check-in will then close 45 minutes before departure.

Failure to check-in on-time will result in the airline, not allowing passengers boarding.
