Buy Silk Avia Flights with Alternative Airlines

Silk Avia is a regional Uzbek airline that begun operations late 2022. The airline is a venture by Uzbekistan Airports to boost and increase both development and traffic across the countries airport network. Silk Avia doesn't intend to operate as a direct competitor to current national airline Uzbekistan Airways but to coordinate domestic and regional services across the country. The airline has published its current route map, covering 8 destinations in Uzbekistan. However, it has stated that they plan on servicing approximately 40 routes with a fleet of regional aircraft seating around 70 passengers with fares being comparable to regional rail prices. It hasn't yet been decided, however, it is likely that the airline will base the majority of its operations out of Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, which is where their current routes are currently operated from.

Baggage Policy

Silk Avia has a different baggage policy for carry-on and checked baggage.

Certain items are prohibited in both hand luggage and checked-in baggage, such as magnetic materials, stun devices, radioactive substances, and more. Liquids, gels, and aerosols in containers exceeding 100ml are not allowed in hand luggage. Rules for carrying liquids, aerosols, and gels include container size limits and placement in a transparent bag.

Carry-on Baggage

For Silk Avia passengers, the hand luggage allowance is up to 5kg. The maximum dimensions for hand luggage are 40cm height x 30cm width x 20cm depth, weighing up to 5kg. Multiple bags count as one piece, with a total combined dimension not exceeding 90cm.

In addition to hand luggage, passengers may bring essential items for the flight. Checked-in baggage should not exceed 115cm in total dimension. Non-standard luggage incurs additional charges based on actual weight.

Checked Baggage

The checked-in baggage allowance depends on the chosen tariff and will be either 0 / 10 / 20kg without charge).

Cabin Classes

Economy Class

The airline is using ATR 72-600, which offers a same class cabin configuration. You can expect the seating to be similar to an economy class product onboard. The cabin can hold up to 70 passengers.

Business Class

As the airline has stated it operates aircraft with a capacity of around 70 passengers it is unlikely that they will install a premium cabin.

In-flight Entertainment & WIFI

As Silk Avia operates primarily regional and domestic services on smaller aircraft it is expected that inflight entertainment and wifi is not installed. However, the airline may publish and offer an inflight magazine. We recommend that you bring your own entertainment to keep you occupied throughout the flight.

Food & Drink

The airline hasn't yet confirmed if they offer an inflight food and beverages service. As the airline is expecting to operate both domestic and regional flights and offer low prices to match those of the national rail network, complimentary drinks and snacks may not be provided. The airline, however, may choose to offer these at a cost during the flight, more information will be available as they airline develops.

Check-In

Silk Avia passengers can check-in at the airport or using their online check-in service they provide.

Online Check-in

Silk Avia passengers can check-in on the Silk Avia website or using their app. Users can also use their app to check flight status and use other services.

Airport Check-in

It is unknown if the airline will have check-in facilities for use at the airport across the entire route network of the airline. These facilities could include self-service machines or the times that the facilities will be open and closed prior to departure. For domestic and regional flights we recommend arriving to the airport an hour and a half before departure.

Frequent Flyer Programme

It is unsure if Silk Avia will offer a frequent flyer program. As both this airline and the national Uzbekistan Airways is owned by the government it is possible they could share a similar program, UZ Air Plus. However, information regarding this is limited.
