Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport (IATA code: ROA) is a public airport serving the city of Roanoke in Virginia, USA. It is located just minutes away from Roanoke’s downtown business district.

Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport provides approximately 40 daily scheduled airline flights and provides nonstop service to 8 major cities. The airport is located three miles northwest of the city of Roanoke, in Virginia.

Shopping: Duty free shopping is not available at the airport. A Hudson News, which is located both Landside and Airside, provides gifts, snacks, travel essentials, newspapers/magazines, and souvenirs.

Eating and drinking: As well as snacks that can be picked up from Hudson News, a McAlister’s is the airport's only dining option. McAlister’s is a full-service restruant and bar, and there is one Landside and one Airside. Options include sandwiches, salads, soups, and baked potatoes. Vending machines are also available.

Postal Services: There is a mail drop-box located landslide, suitable for letters only.

Workstations: Work desks are available at numerous points along the 2nd floor balcony (Landside), as well as at technology bars by the airline gates.

Charging Stations: Charging stations for electronic devices can be found throughout the airport.

Pet Relief: There are small grass areas conveniently located outside of each end of the terminal lobby. For service animals, there is also a Service Animal Relief Area past the screening checkpoint area.

Runways

The airport has two runways, the largest is 6/24, which measures 6,800 feet (2,100 m) x 150 feet (46 m), and the second is 16, which measures 5,810 feet (1,770 m) x 150 feet (46 m) in total length.

Terminals

The airport consists of a one small terminal building. It has a single concourse and six gates. The main terminal building is Y-shaped and features striking glass front. The lobby houses a central plaza and front courtyard at the main entrance.

Baggage Claim: The baggage claim area is located on the first floor to the right as passengers exit the down escalator.

Did you know? Outside the terminal the large abstract, steel sculpture is entitled Aurora and was made by New York artist Albert Paley.
