Hi Air is a domestic South Korean airline which was established in December 2017. The airline received an operating license from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in December 2018. Hi Air is on a mission to become South Korea's leading domestic carrier, focused on connecting small and underserved medium-sized cities. The airline's first route was between Ulsan and Seoul.

The airline is currently establishing a domestic route network, focused on Ulsan, Gimpo, and Yeosu routes. The airline also hopes to serve locals and tourists alike with flights to islands including Heuksando, Ulleungdo, and Yeonpyeongdo. Long-term the airline has plans to establish itself as an international carrier, with flights to Japan and Shandong, China, starting with Kyushu, Japan.

Hi Air currently operates 3 ATR72s. By 2025, the airline hopes to grow its fleet to 25 ATR72 aircraft.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers must store their carry-on baggage in the overhead storage containers or under the seat infront. Each pasenger is entitled to one piece of checked baggage, which must have a sum 100cm (three sides) and not exceed the weight of 8kg. If carry-on baggage exceeds these dimensions, weight and/or number, it will be transported as checked baggage.

In addition to the one complimentary carry-on bag, passengers may carry the following personal items: a coat, jacket, blanket; a small amount of reading material; 1 small handbag, wallet, or small briefcase; an umbrella/walking stick; a small camera/binoculars; and a laptop computer/storage bag.

Checked Baggage

Each passenger is entitled to up to 15 Kgs of free checked baggage.

Baggage that exceeds the free baggage allowance will be subject to excess baggage fees.

Cabin Classes

Economy Class Facilities

During the flight, cabin crew will serve hot/cold drinks and snack/light meal options from the aircraft's galley. W/C facilities are available. Onboard Wi-Fi is not available.

What are Economy Class Seats Like?

Passengers can experience a comfortable cabin environment. There are 50 passenger seats configured in a 2-2 formation. The space between seats is 38 inches (about 97 cm).

Fare Classes

Although Economy is the only cabin class, there are up to 4 seat fares (depending on the route) that passengers can choose from, including 'Regular', 'Sale', and 'Special Price' . These fares provide different tiers of flexibility and benefits, including name/date changes and cancellation policies. If these fare options are available for your flight, they will be detailed during the booking process, so that you can choose the best option for you.

Check-In

Hi Air passengers can check-in online and at the airport. Opening and closing times will change depending on wether you're flying domestically or internationally.

Online Check-in

Web check-in is available for domestic flights and is open from 24 hours to 30 minutes before flight departure. Online check-in can be completed through the airline's website.

Airport Check-in

All passengers must have completed check-in (including seat assignment and baggage drop-off) 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Passengers who have not completed check-in before this time may be refused boarding.

Frequent Flyer Programme

Hi Air does not currently offer a frequent flyer program.

Flying with Infants

Infant ticket fares are available. The checked baggage allowance for infants or children who have paid 75% of the applicable adult fare for the relevant section is the same as that of the passenger who paid the adult fare. Strollers can be checked-in as checked baggage at the check-in counter or after using them to the boarding gate.

Wheelchair Assistance

Due to the restrictions of the the aircraft, please be aware that an on-board wheelchair service is not available. For passengers who require a wheelchair, the airline does offer a free wheelchair rental option upon arrival and departure from the airport. Passengers can use their own wheelchairs up to the boarding gate of the aircraft, at which point the wheelchair will be separately loaded as checked baggage.
