The airport has two runways. The primary runway is 12,007 feet (3,660 m) long and the secondary runway is 7,099 feet (2,164 m) long.
Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport has a single primary terminal building, with three concourses (A, B and C) and 19 departure gates. The concourses are newly completed (having opened in 2014) and provide clean, bright, and modern facilities. The Landside terminal entrance has ticketing and check-in facilities on the upper level, as well as a business center and large function room. Baggage claim and airport offices are on the lower level. Most eateries and shopping opportunities are Airside, near to the departure gates.
Concourse A: Concourse A has 8 gates, A1-A8. It is used by Delta Air Lines and Frontier Airlines.
Concourse B: Concourse B consists of 5 gates, B1-B5. It is used by American Airlines.
Concourse C: Concourse C consists of 6 gates, C1-C6. It is used by Southwest and United.
