Jacksonville International Airport (IATA code: JAX) is located just 13 miles north of Downtown Jacksonville, in Florida, USA. The airport is owned and operated by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.

With over 200 flights a day, over 6 million passengers travel through the airport each year.

JAX is an important transport hub for Florida and provides non-stop flights to some major U.S. cities, many of which are international gateways.

Location

The airport is located 13 miles (21 km) north of Downtown Jacksonville, just a 15 minute drive (approx).

JAX has a variety of amenities and services available located both pre and post security.

Entertainment: Live entertainment is provided and there are three free to acces art galleries offer an ideal way to enjoy the time while waiting for your flights. A meditation centre and wlecome centre operated bu volunteers is also available.

Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal.

Banking services: ATMs (Bank of America and Wells-Fargo) are available throughout the terminal and before and after security. Please note that currency exchange services are not available.

Pets: The pet relief area is located outside the baggage claim.

Shopping and dining: whether you have time for a sit down, full-service restraunt meal, a fast-food outlet for meals on the go, or just a few snacks, there is a variety of eating options at JAX, both pre and post security. You'll also find shopping outlets.

Additional: There is also an executive conference room available to hire.

Lounges Include:

USO Lounge: Available to active members of the military, as well as family members, who can wait in the comfort of the JAX USO Lounge. The lounge is located on the lower level behind Welcome Center/Information booth and open 7:00AM – 11:00PM daily. Complimentary amenities include snacks, internet cafe, TV, video gaming station, computers, library and kitchen space.

Delta Sky Club: The lounge is available for Delta Sky Club members and open 4:30AM – 7:55PM (Sun – Fri) and 4:30AM – 6:30PM (Sat). The lounge is located Airside, Concourse A. Benefits and amenities include complimentary cocktails, fresh and healthy food options, telephones, TVs, newspapers and magazines, fax and photocopiers, free Wi-Fi and much more.

Runways

The airport has two concrete runways: 8/26, 10,000 x 150 ft (3,048 x 46 m) and 14/32, 7,701 x 150 ft (2,347 x 46 m).

Terminals

Inside the terminal building there is a baggage claim area on the first floor; past baggage claim is the mezzanine, where passengers will find shops, restaurants and the security checkpoint. The ticketing area can be found on the second floor. Beyond the mezzanine are the airport's two Concourses, A and C, which each have 10 gates (20 total), along with additional shops and restaurants.

How to get to Jacksonville International Airport

By Car

The airport can be reached easily from the centre of Jacksonville, by picking up the Interstate 95 route to Airport Road (exit: 363-B), then taking the westbound signposted route up to the airport. Hourly and daily parking is available in the multi-storey car park which is next to the terminal building. All the car parks are serviced by a free shuttle service, which operates 24 hours a day.

By Bus

The airport offers a direct public transit service to Jacksonville Transportation Authority's bus network. The CT3 "AirJTA" bus connects the airport to downtown Jacksonville, and takes about 30 minutes. Connections can be made to Greyhound Bus Lines and to the Jacksonville Skyway monorail system.

By Shuttle

There are a number of shuttle services that operate from the airport, including to destinations across the local region.
