Ibex Airlines Ltd, previously known as Fair inc up until 2004, is a Japanese regional airline that operates scheduled domestic flights out of its main base, Sendai Airport (SDJ) in Kōtō, Tokyo, Japan. The airline was founded in 1999 and started operating the following year in 2000 between Sendai and Itami Airport (ITM) in Osaka. The airline came to a collaboration agreement with All Nippon Airways under which it is offered its assistance in flight operations, flight crew provision, maintenance and engineering services. In April 2002, the airline started operations to Tokyo's Narita International Airport (NRT).

Ibex Airlines currently operates 13 regularly scheduled domestic flights to 4 different islands within Japan.

Overall, the airline has a fleet of 10 aircraft ranging from all from Bombadiers' that can in total carry 700 passengers at one time.

Baggage Allowance

All baggage must be weighed. The airline's baggage includes all bags, carry-ons, laptop bags, purses and other items.

Carry-on Baggage

The airline allows passengers to take with them one piece of 10kg of carry-on baggage free of charge and should not exceed 100 cm linear centimetres (length + width + height).

Carry-on baggage must not contain any prohibited items including any fluid exceeding 100ml. Any fluid must be placed in a plastic container for airport security. Lithium batteries must also be stored in carry-on baggage.

Items carried onboard must fit within the overhead lockers and under the seat. The airline has the right to refuse to allow the item onboard because of safety reasons.

Checked Baggage

Ibex Airlines passengers are permitted to take up to 32 kg of baggage per person and not exceed 203 linear centimetres (length + width + height). Any additional baggage will be charged at the current extra baggage rate. The airline is not allowed to take hazardous materials such as flammables, compressed gases, batteries and toxic substances.

Oversized items may also have a fee occurred.

Cabin Classes

Economy Class

The airline mostly operates small domestic flights and there is only one cabin class that is offered on the aircraft and that is the basic Economy class. The airline gives you amenities for instance the one free checked piece of baggage, hot and cold beverages and the option of selecting your seat.

Seats

All the seats are placed in a 2 x 2 formation, making sure that each passenger will sit by either a window or an aisle. Passengers can relax in comfy leather seats available for all passengers with plenty of legroom.

Online check-in before your flight isn't required when travelling with the airline.

Airport Check-In

As passengers arrive at the airports terminal, they will be required to hand their boarding pass and the airline will take care of their baggage. It would take a few minutes for you to get checked in. The airline emphasis that passengers arrive early before their scheduled departure time, baggage should be checked in at least 20 minutes prior to departure of their flight and 10 minutes at the boarding gate before their departure time.
