Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, commonly referred to as Hyderabad Airport, is an international airport that serves Hyderabad in India. The airport is named after Rajiv Gandhi, who was a former Prime Minister of India.
The airport was originally built in March 2008, to replace the former commercial airport, Begumpet Airport, who was unable to handle the increasing passenger traffic.
Currently, the airport is a hub for Alliance Air, IndiGo, Blue Dart Aviation, SpiceJet and TruJet. Similarly, the airport is a focus city for Air India, Air Asia India, Go Air and Vistara.
