Guinea Airlines, is an airline based in Guinea, with its base at Conakry G'bessia International (CKY). Guinea Airlines have recently signed an agreement for a strategic partership with Ethiopian Airlines and Asky. With Ethiopian Airlines as a technical partner, the start-up carrier will launch in June 2018. Guinea Airlines specialises in domestic Guinean flights, as well as regional flights across West Africa.
The airline is named after the former national carrier of Guinea which ceased operations in 2002. It aims to become a leading airline in West Africa, providing passengers with safe, reliable and affordable air travel.
Guinea Airlines operates both domestic and international flights to select destinations around West Africa. Below is a list of all the destinations Guinea Airlines flies to:
Passengers flying with Guinea Airlines are permitted one piece of carry-on baggage that cannot weigh more than 7 kg (15 lbs). It must not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55 x 35 x 25 cm (22 x 14 x 10 in). A personal item is also allowed - this can include a purse, a laptop bag or a backpack.
One piece of checked baggage is allowed per passenger. The maximum weight is 23 kg (50 lbs) per piece. The checked baggage also cannot exceed the linear dimensions of 158 cm (length + width + height).
If you have additional baggage or your baggage exceeds the weight and dimension restrictions, you may be required to pay an excess baggage fee. This fee will vary depending on your flight route and the weight of the excess baggage. Please check with Guinea Airlines for more information.
Guinea Airlines only has one cabin class - Economy.
The cabin on Guinea Airlines flights is set up as a single-class configuration with standard economy seating. Guinea Airlines provides a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience to all of its passengers. Complimentary snacks and beverages are offered throughout the flight.
Even though there is no Business or First Class, passengers can opt for extras such as priority boarding, extra legroom seats and pre-selected meals at an additional cost.
Online check-in and airport check-in are available for Guinea Airlines flights.
Online check-in opens 24 hours up until 2 hours before the scheduled flight departure time. With online check-in, passengers can select seats and also print boarding passes in advance.
If you cannot check-in online for your Guinea Airlines flight, you can check in at the airport using the airline's check-in counters. Check-in will close 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure for international flights.
We recommend arriving at the airport at least 2-3 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart in order to allow enough time to check in, clear security and reach the boarding gate on time.
Guinea Airlines doesn't currently offer any forms of in-flight entertainment. We suggest bringing your own forms of entertainment on board such as books or pre-downloaded TV shows/movies.
Due to the nature of flights operated by Guinea Airlines, the airline doesn't provide a meal service. It does serve complimentary snacks and beverages to keep you refreshed before you land at your destination.
Guinea Airlines doesn't currently have a frequent flyer program.
Guinea Airlines isn't a member of any airline alliance however it does have a strategic partnership with Ethiopian Airlines and ASKY. The partnership was established to promote cooperation between the two airlines and to offer more travel options to its passengers.
Ethiopian Airlines provides Guinea Airlines with technical and commercial support to help the airline expand its network. Ethiopian also helps to train the staff for Guinea Airlines including pilots, cabin crew and ground handling personnel.

It serves a number of West African, North African and European airlines, including Ethiopian Airlines and ASKY airlines. Fun fact: you can find many students in the parking lot studying for exams because it is freely accessible and illuminated 24/7. The airport is located 8.53km as the crow flies from the city centre.
Guinea Airlines operates a fleet of Embraer ERJ145 and ATR 72-500 aircraft. It has a total of 3 aircraft in its fleet. These aircraft are ideal for regional flights operated by Guinea Airlines.
2nd February 2018
The company based in Conakry signed an agreement concerning the provision of technology transfer, maintenance and commercial management to Guinea airlines. Whether Ethiopian airlines are to have any equity in the airline has not yet been specified. This comes along with Ethiopian's current partnership ASKY airlines, making a trilateral partnership with the potential to 'fill the air connectivity vacuum' between the Mano River countries.
On behalf of Guinea Airlines CEO, Mr Cheick Dem for his part appreciated Ethiopian Airlines for the effort to realize the establishment of Guinea Airlines. He also vowed to honor the terms of the agreement and to ensure that the partnership will indeed be a model.
H.E. Mr. Oye Guilavogui, the Guinean Minister for Transport, who co-signed the agreement, on his part, expressed his joy and said: "I thank the entire delegation that accompanied me for the realization of this partnership. I am very happy with the Ethiopian side who deployed a lot of efforts for the signing of this agreement. We hope that by the end of June, our aircraft will start flying to Conakry, neighboring countries as well as regional capitals.”
