Buy Tantalus Air Flights with Alternative Airlines

Tantalus Air is a Canadian charter airline. The airline is based at Vancouver International Airport and flies to several destinations across Canada and the US. As a charter airline, the airline can fly to most destinations within North America. Although, its most popular destinations are destinations in Central and West Canada and West USA that are within five hours of its base in Vancouver.

Tantalus Air launched it 2013. The airline is a subsidiary of Harbour Air Seaplanes and was launched to offer a land-based alternative to the regular seaplane flights that Harbour Air Seaplanes offers. The airline launched with a single eight-seat PC-12 aircraft, with Vancouver to Kelowna as its first route. Since it began flying, the airline has expanded its fleet and route network and now flies to several destinations across Canada and the US.

The airline prides itself in being able to offer charter flights that are at a much better price when compared to other flights that are operated by a private jet. Tantalus Air also has the ability to perform short take-off and landing, which means that it can fly to and from even the most remote destinations within North America.

Baggage Policy

Passengers are given a free baggage allowance of 25 lbs (11 kg). This is a combined carry-on and checked baggage allowance, with the majority of the weight awarded to the checked baggage.

If passengers exceed the total weight of the free baggage allowance, they will be charged an excess baggage fee when checking in.

If passengers need more baggage, this can be arranged with the airline. Tantalus Air planes have a large cargo space with large cargo doors. This can accommodate all types of baggage, including sports equipment, bicycles and other baggage. Passengers can load a shipping pallet up to 4' high.

Cabin Classes

Tantalus Air flies with an Economy Class cabin. However, as a charter airline, the Economy Class cabin is much more luxurious and personal in comparison to the Economy Class that you would find on a regularly scheduled commercial airline. The Economy Class of Tantalus Air is more akin to the Business Class that you'd find on flights from the famous commercial passenger airlines.

Despite planes being small, it does have onboard toilet facilities that are available to use when safe for passengers to stand up from their seat.

Seats

Tantalus Air has six or eight seats per cabin, all sat in a 1 x 1 formation. This guarantees that each passenger is sat by both the window and aisle.

Seats adjust and swivel and each seat has a stowable.

In-flight Entertainment & WIFI

Tantalus Air doesn't provide in-flight entertainment or WIFI.

Food & Drink

The airline has a refreshment centre onboard, where passengers can go up and help themselves to a variety of snacks, drinks and other light refreshments.

Pre-booking, passengers are able to put in special food and drink requests for their flight if they contact the airline directly.

Check-In

Tantalus Air passengers must check in at the airport since the airline doesn't offer online check in.

Online Check-in

Online check-in is unavailable for this airline.

Airport Check-in

Check-in must be completed at the airport of departure. As a charter airline, the airline doesn't require passengers to queue at the traditional check-in desks at the airport to check-in. Check-in instructions will be sent to passengers after they've made a booking with Tantalus Air. It's recommended that passengers arrive at check-in for their flight at least 30 minutes before scheduled flight departure time. Check-in closes 20 minutes before scheduled flight departure time and the boarding deadline is 10 minutes before. Passengers must make these deadlines or they may be denied boarding or miss the flight entirely.

Hub Airport

Vancouver International Airport

Vancouver International Airport is the main airport in Vancouver, Canada and the hub airport for Tantalus Air. The airline has used Vancouver International as its hub since it launched flights back in 2013 and is where the majority of its planes are stationed. Although, as with many charter airlines, the airline doesn't operate the majority of its flight out of Vancouver, as flights can be from any two destinations at the request of the booking.

Vancouver International has three runways and three terminal buildings. The three terminal buildings are each named the International terminal, the Domestic terminal and the Airport South. The Airport South terminal is the terminal that Tantalus Air is based at and operates its flights to/from.

Other than Tantalus Air, Vancouver International is a hub for Air CanadaAir Canada ExpressPacific Coastal Airlines and Westjet. Other airlines that fly to Vancouver include San Juan Airlines and Flair Airlines.
