About

San Juan Airlines is a commuter airline that operates scheduled flights within the U.S. state of Washington. The carrier operates out of its hub at Bellingham Airport (BLI), near the San Juan Islands. The airline was founded in 1947 and bought out Pearson Aircraft in 1981. It later disappeared for over a decade after competitive pressures forced the airline to terminate in 1989. However, the airline returned to operations in February 2002.

In 2014, Northwest Sky Ferry merged into San Juan Airlines. In May 2019, the airline became the third airline to start weekly passenger operations at the Paine Field airport in Snohomish County within the state of Washington D.C. Overall, the airline has a fleet of 5 turboprop aircraft ranging from all from Cessnas that can in total carry 21 passengers at one time.

San Juan Airlines currently operates 24 regularly scheduled flights within Washington D.C. and Oregon (U.S.), as well as to British Columbia, in Canada. The airline also flies to the San Juan Islands with the only scheduled flight from Anacortes Airport (ANC) and Bellingham Airport (BLI) to the islands.
