Spring Airlines Japan Ltd. is a low-cost Japanese airline that operates scheduled flights out of its hub base, Narita International Airport (NRT) in Kozunomori, Narita, Japan. The airline was founded in October 2012 and commenced operations two years later in Autumn 2014. A third of the airline is owned by Spring Airlines which is a Chinese low-cost carrier. Spring Airlines Japan is also owned by a Japanese travel agency which is known as JTB and provides Japanese tour packages to Chinese customers.

In April 2021, Japan Airlines announced that they would invest in the airline in the hope of raising their current 5% share to over 51% share by the summer.

The airline currently operates 9 regularly scheduled flights domestically within Japan as well as internationally to China.

Overall, the airline has a fleet of 6 Boeing 737-800 aircraft that can in total carry 189 passengers at one time.

Baggage Policy

Spring Airlines Japan baggage allowance includes all bags, carry-ons, laptop bags, purses and other items. All baggage must be weighed.

Carry-on Baggage

All passengers flying with Spring Airlines Japan are permitted to take one piece of carry-on baggage through the security check-in for free. Passengers need to ensure that their carry-on baggage doesn't exceed the specified size of 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm (Length x Weight x Height) or a total of 115cm in three dimensions, and a maximum weight of 7 kg.

Carry-on baggage must fit within the overhead lockers and under the seat in front. Prohibited items are not allowed in the carry-on baggage or they would be confiscated by airport security. This includes any fluid exceeding 100ml.

Checked Baggage

The airline checked baggage or SpringPlus must be added to their flight purchase. The airlines allow passengers to take a maximum checked suitcase of 30 kg and a sum of 203cm in three dimensions. Any baggage exceeding the weight and size will be charged according to the distance and the weight of the excess baggage.
