About PGA Portugalia Airlines

Portugália Airlines is a regional airline in Portugal, which was established in 1988. The airline offered a scheduled service to Algeria and Morocco in Africa and to Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom in Europe.

The airline mostly operates from Lisbon Portela Airport and it is an affiliate member of Star Alliance.

In 2016, TAP Air Portugal made an announcement regarding the rebranding of Portugália Airlines. As of March 2016, Portugália would be renamed as TAP Express as part of the group's restructuring efforts. However, it was stated that Portugália Airlines would remain an independent division within the group.

What happened to PGA Portugália Airlines?

PGA Portugalia Airlines rebranded in 2016 to TAP Express as part of the restructuring measures of the TAP Group. TAP Air Portugal announced that the entire PGA Portugalia Airlines fleet would be replaced with new Embraer 190 and ATR 72-600 aircraft.

In 2022, it was announced that PGA Portugalia Airlines will be fully integrated into TAP Portugal as part of cost cutting and restructuring measures.
