Founded in 2018, Fly Tristar, previously Tristar Air, is a Kenyan regional airline that is based at Nairobi Wilson Airport (WIL). The airline was formed by three Kenyan cargo specialist companies — Bushair Safaris, Rudufu and Buffair Services — and offers domestic services within Kenya, with a long-term goal to extend its reach in Kenya and eventually fly to destinations in other parts of Africa.
Fly Tristar flies to 8 Kenyan destinations from Nairobi. These are Lodwa, Takaba, El Wak, Eldoret, Kisumu, Masai Mara, Lamu, Malindi, Mombasa and Ukunda.
Fly Tristar's fleet is made up entirely of the dutch turboprop aircraft — Fokker 50.
Passengers flying on Fly Tristar are entitled to one item of carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 5kg.
Passengers flying on Fly Tristar are entitled to one item of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 20kg.
Fly Tristar asks that you stick to these baggage allowances. Any baggage that exceeds baggage allowance will be charged at $10.00 USD per kg, with a minimum charge of $30.00 USD for each overweight bag.
Fly Tristar doesn't offer online check-in for their flights at this moment.
To check-in for Fly Tristar flights, passengers must visit the Fly Tristar check-in agents at the dedicated Fly Tristar check-in counters at the airport. Fly Tristar asks that passengers arrive no later than one hour before the flight leaves to check-in. Check-in counters completely shut 15 minutes before flight departure time and any passenger that tries to check-in later than 30 minutes before the flight leaves will be denied and will lose their seat on the aircraft.
