The Boeing 767 is a mid- to large-size, wide-body twin-engine jet airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The aircraft is used to operate mid- to long-range flights.

The 767 was designed as a smaller wide-body aircraft than the earlier 747, and was initially flown on domestic and transcontinental routes. In 1985, it then became the first twin-engined airliner to be used on extended overseas flights, and then for expand non-stop service on medium- to long-haul intercontinental routes.

The 767 family includes five passenger models — the 767-200, 767-200ER, 767-300, 767-300ER and the 767-400ER. The 767 has a seating capacity for 181 to 375 people.

United Airlines first placed the 767 in commercial service in 1982. As of August 2019, Boeing has received 1,254 orders for the 767 from 74 customers with 1,161 delivered. Today, primary commercial users include Delta Air Lines and Untied Airlines.

Cargo carrier variants of the 767 remain in production in 2019, however, there is a successor to the passenger variant, the 787, which first entered service in 2011.
