Buy Wright Air Service flights with Alternative Airlines

Wright Air Service is a US airline that operates scheduled passenger commuter flights. The airline is based at Fairbanks International Airport and flies to more than 20 destinations within the state of Alaska. Wright Air Service is committed to giving the people of Alaska easy flight connections to the states isolated towns and villages.

The airline launched back in 1967 and originally flew for short fields, game survey and to support the Trans-Alaska Pipeline construction. In 1986, the airline flew its first scheduled flights, linking destinations in Fairbanks to destinations in the north of Interior Alaska. During its time, the airline has grown into a well-established airline within Alaska, expanding its fleet, staff and route network and becoming the main commuter airline within the Fairbanks region.

Aside from passenger flights, the airline also flies cargo and charter flights.

Baggage Policy

Passengers are given a free baggage allowance of 18 kg (40lbs). The airline doesn't split its baggage allowance by checked and carry-on, meaning passengers only get one bag to cover both types of baggage. Due to the small aircraft type, passengers will have to store their baggage wherever possible on the aircraft, as instructed by the airline's cabin crew. This means that baggage might not be accessible for the duration of the flight. Therefore, important that passengers remove any essential items from the bag that they need for their flight.

Excess Baggage

If baggage exceeds the 18 kg (40lbs) limit that Wright Air Service allows for, passengers will be charged an excess baggage fee for each pound in weight that the baggage is over.

Special Items

Weapons must be checked as baggage and will be included within baggage allowance.

Passengers that are bringing camp fuels must be aware that most camp fuels are prohibited from flying. It's important for passengers to check with the airline to see if their camp fuel is allowed to be brought on the aircraft prior to flying.

Cabin Classes

The airline flies a one cabin aircraft. The cabin is very small and — depending on the type of aircraft used — can hold up to a maximum of nine passengers per flight.

Because the cabin is small, the service in-flight is limited. However, the crew is available to answer any questions or assist.

The airline has a strict no-smoking policy for all of its flights.

Seats

Seats are typically set out in a 1 x 1 or 1 x 2 configuration.
