About Taquan Air

Taquan Air was founded in 1977 and is a domestic U.S. airline, headquartered in Ketchikan, a southeastern city in the American State of Alaska.

Taquan Air is the operating name of Venture Travel, LLC. The airline provides both scheduled passenger and charter services. The airline is based at the Ketchikan Harbor Seaplane Base, which shares the same harbor as Ketchikan International Airport.

Taquan Air has been recognized as one of the most successful floatplane operators in Alaska. The airline peaked in 1997, when Taquan Air operated as the largest floatplane company in the world, and provided the second largest air commuter service in Alaska.

The long-established airline is still in service today, offering both regional scheduled flights to popular destinations in Alaska, as well as private charter services. The airline also provides ‘flightseeing’ tours, flying tourists over the Misty Fjords National Monument, as well as bear viewings within Earth's largest remaining temperate rainforest, the Tongass National Forest.
