Taquan Air was founded in 1977 and is a domestic U.S. airline, headquartered in Ketchikan, a southeastern city in the American State of Alaska.
Taquan Air is the operating name of Venture Travel, LLC. The airline provides both scheduled passenger and charter services. The airline is based at the Ketchikan Harbor Seaplane Base, which shares the same harbour as Ketchikan International Airport.
Taquan Air has been recognized as one of the most successful floatplane operators in Alaska. The airline peaked in 1997, when Taquan Air operated as the largest floatplane company in the world, and provided the second largest air commuter service in Alaska.
The long-established airline is still in service today, offering both regional scheduled flights to popular destinations in Alaska, as well as private charter services. The airline also provides ‘flightseeing’ tours, flying tourists over the Misty Fjords National Monument, as well as bear viewings within Earth's largest remaining temperate rainforest, the Tongass National Forest.

The weight allowance includes carry-on items. Passengers are permitted to carry a small or fragile item on to the aircraft prior to boarding. However, these items must be stowed by the pilot in the plane’s appropriate cargo compartments.
Items that are free in addition to the maximum of forty pounds: an overcoat/wrap; an umbrella; a walking stick or crutches.
Passengers are limited to forty pounds of luggage.
Excess baggage and oversized items will be transported as space allows. This might mean travelling on another aircraft and will be charged at a rate per pound.
The airline only offers one cabin class, with standard seating. The company has recently completely refurbishment of all its aircraft to like-new standards.
Taquan’s fleet has been entirely overhauled, including extending the cabin, adding an extra window seat, installing four additional windows, putting in a new interior, and repainting. The airline actively tries to ensure it has the most modern fleet of Beavers and Otters in the world.

Flights require check-in thirty minutes prior to departure and will close 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
The airline has its own facility located in Ketchikan’s Harbor Waterfront Base, located in the Ketchikan Point Business Park, where passengers can check-in at the airline’s private check-in desks. Vehicles access the business park via a separate entrance and exit, with motorcoach loading available and ample short and long-term parking for customers.
Although Alaska resides in the United States, some portions of travel may require a passport. Please be aware of this before heading to check-in.
The airline flies year-round to a variety of communities and popular tourist destinations on the Prince of Wales, Revillagigedo and Annette Islands, as well as to mainland Alaska. The airline operates a Summer and Winter schedule, with all flights weather dependent.

Ketchikan Harbor Seaplane Base (IATA: WFB) is a privately owned, public use seaplane base located at the harbor of Ketchikan. The airline has a private base at Ketchikan’s Harbor Waterfront Base. The airline’s facility includes a spacious check-in area, passenger lounge, gift shop and restrooms.
The base is located near the Ketchikan International Airport, which can link passengers to major cities in Alaska, as well as other US States, thanks to the following airlines: Alaska Airlines and Delta Connection.
Taquan flies a DeHavilland Beaver or an Otter aircraft. The airline is committed to ensuring its fleet is of the highest standard in commercial operation. Scheduled flights will be limited to four passengers, plus the cargo allocated to each scheduled flight.
’Rewards Travel’ members that fly on the airline’s scheduled flights will accrue a free flight once 10 one-way segments have been completed. Members can also benefit from discounts, with 10% off each ticket.
