Syrian Arab Airlines, also known as Syrian Arab Airlines, is the national flag carrier of Syria.

The number of flights operated by the airline has declined since 2011, as a result of the Arab Spring and subsequent Syrian war. Today, the airline operates flights to 11 countries and 14 international airports, across Asia, Europe and North Africa. Destinations include Russia, Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Sudan, Libya, Jordan, Abu Dhabi and Tunisia.

Syrian Air has a customer service department at Damascus airport, its hub airport, to provide support to customers.

Baggage Policy

When flying with Syrian Air, you are permitted carry-on and checked baggage allowances.

Carry-on Baggage

Economy: 1 piece of hand luggage in the aircraft cabin is permitted per passenger. The max weight is 8 kg, and max dimensions are: 50/40/25 cm.

Business: 1 piece of hand luggage in the aircraft cabin is permitted per passenger. The max weight is 10 kg, and max dimensions are: 50/40/25 cm.

In addition to the carry-on baggage, one small personal item is allowed. The following items will be accepted: size brief case or ladies hand bag, one coat, ne umbrella, one walking stick, one small camera or binoculars.

Checked Baggage

Syrian Air does not provide checked baggage information; baggage allowance varies and will need to be confirmed at the time of booking.

Check-In

To check in for your Syrian Air flight, you will need to do so at the airport as online check-in isn't available.

Online Check-In

Syrian Air does not currently provide online check-in.

Airport Check-In

Check-in for flights on narrow-body aircraft opens 3 hours before scheduled departure, and closes 45 minutes before scheduled departure.

Check-in for flights on wide-body aircraft opens 4 hours before scheduled departure, and closes 60 minutes before scheduled departure.

Cabin Classes

On most of its planes, Syrian Air provides two travel classes: Economy Class and Business Class. The airline is dedicated to providing all passengers with a comfortable experience and premium service.

Economy Class

Economy Class Facilities:

On every flight, meals are served. Light meals or sandwiches are also provided on short routes after the main meal.

Economy Class Seating:

Wide and comfortable seats, with back and foot rests that can be adjusted at the push of a button. Seats are configured to maximise personal space.

Business Class

Business Class Facilities:

Benefits include an exclusive check-in counter. Business passengers can enjoy the private lounge at Damascus International Airport, which provides a business work space and high-speed internet connection.

Onboard the plane, Business is located in a separate cabin. Meals are served, including the main meal, appetizers, salads and Damascene sweets.

Business Class Seating:

Seats recline up to 72°. Backrests and footrests are fully adjustable. Headrests and armrests are padded, and extra legroom is provided. Seats are configured in a way that provides the largest possible space for passengers.

Frequent Flyer Program

There are no frequent flyer memberships available for Syrian Air.

Airline Alliance

Syrian Air is not part of an airline alliance. It was a member of the Arabesk Airline Alliance, an unofficial airline alliance composed of Arab-based airlines. The alliance is no longer recognised. Syrian Air remains a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization, which is comprised of over 30 constituent airline members and provides a framework for cooperation amongst members.

Entertainment

Business Class Passengers can enjoy watching movies onboard Syrian Air flights. Note that there are no personal entertainment systems; TV's are overhead/wall mounted.

Is WiFi Available? Onboard WiFi is not available.

Meals

On every flight, complimentary snacks and meals (flight length depending) are served. Complimentary alcohol, including wine, is served on Syrian Air Airlines international flights.

Business Class: Meals are prepared from three selections of red meat or white meat, and served with appetizers, salads, Damascene, and other complementary sweets such as cakes, gateau, etc. Western pastries and breakfast meals are also served, depending on the time of flight, and consist of cheese and honey. Only the highest quality ingredients are used.

Economy: A variety of light meals and sandwiches are provided on short routes, as well as a main meal on longer flights.
