Sydney Airport is an international airport in Mascot, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It's the main airport serving the city of Sydney. The airport facilitates a mix of domestic flights within Australia (to most major cities, alongside smaller cities and towns), international flights, as well as intercontinental flights to Japan, the UK, and USA. The airport code for Sydney Airport is SYD.
Sydney Airport is a primary hub airport for Qantas, alongside being a secondary hub for Jetstar Airways and Virgin Australia.
It is the busiest airport in Australia, and one of the world's longest continuously operated commercial airports, having been founded in 1919. Sydney Airport is located in the suburb of Mascot, located 7km (just under 4.5 miles) south of Sydney's central business district It can take between 25 minutes to drive to the airport from the Sydney central business district, depending on how light the traffic is.

Runways
The airport has three runways, which are known colloquially as "north-south", "east-west", and "third". The main runway is "north-south", which is 3.9km in length. Long-haul flights will usually use this runway since it is longer and can facilitate larger aircraft easier.
Terminals
There are three terminals at Sydney Airport.
Terminal 1 (T1)
Terminal 1 (T1) is an international terminal and all international flights depart from and arrive to T1. Qantas domestic flight numbers F001-399 also depart from T1.
Terminal 2 (T2)
Terminal 2 (T2) is a terminal for domestic and regional flights, including Qantas flights QF1600 and above.
Terminal 3 (T3)
Terminal 3 (T3) is a terminal for Qantas flights QF0400-1599.

How to get to Sydney Airport
By Driving
Sydney Airport is around 25 minutes drive from the central business district in light traffic. Car rental and parking facilities are available at the airport
By Taxi and Rideshare

By Rail
You can travel to Sydney Airport by rail - the Sydney Airport station is just 13 minutes by train from the city. For those travelling from the suburbs, the Airport Link service can be used
By Bus
There are timetabled services by Sydney Buses - Route 400, between Bondi Junction and Eastgardens via Sydney Airport and 420 between Eastgardens to Burwood via Sydney Airport. Both services stop at both T1 (International) and T3 (Domestic) terminals. Bus stops are clearly marked on the arrivals level at each terminal.
