What is JetBlue's Cancellation Policy?

Want to cancel your JetBlue booking but not sure where to begin or whether you'll get a refund? At Alternative Airlines, we're here to help.

JetBlue's cancellation policy states that you may be entitled to a refund if you cancel your flight within 24 hours from the time of booking and at least 7 days before the scheduled departure time. The refund eligibility will depend on the type of ticket you purchased but you won't be charged a cancellation fee. You can use this cancellation policy if you booked your JetBlue flight through Alternative Airlines. Cancelling your flight through Alternative Airlines is simple - all you need to do is contact us during our operating hours to make your cancellation/refund request.

If you contact us after our operating hours to cancel your JetBlue booking and the 24-hour cancellation window has already expired by the time we've received your request, we may not be able to carry out the 24-hour cancellation policy as JetBlue won't give us your refund.

Please contact us between 9am - 8pm UK time if you wish to cancel your JetBlue booking within the 24-hour cancellation window and receive a refund.

Can I get a refund for my JetBlue cancellation?

Yes, but this depends on the type of fare you purchased for your JetBlue flight. If you purchased a refundable JetBlue ticket and wish to cancel within 24 hours from when you first made your booking, you can receive a full refund without paying any cancellation fees. However, if your JetBlue ticket is non-refundable, you might not receive a full refund but you won't need to pay a cancellation fee, as long as you cancel within 24 hours of the time of booking.

You can cancel your JetBlue flight and request a refund through Alternative Airlines, however, you'll need to do so during our operating hours (9am - 8pm GMT) and make sure the 24-hour window hasn't elapsed. If you attempt to cancel your booking with JetBlue outside of our opening hours and the 24-hour window has elapsed, we may not receive your cancellation/refund request in time and won't be able to give your a refund.

First, find our search form at the top of the page and fill in your departure/arrival airports, the days you plan to fly, how many passengers will be flying and the fare type you'd like to purchase. Press the 'Search Flights' button to proceed.

If you only want to see flights operated by a specific airline (e.g., JetBlue), you can use the Airline filter. This will only show flights operated by JetBlue based on your search criteria. Choose the flights that best suit you and confirm your selection to proceed.

Enter all of the required passenger details and scroll down to reach the Cancellation Protection stage. Tick 'Yes, protect my booking' to add Cancellation Protection to your JetBlue flight.

Pay your way

Finally, confirm your booking with any of the flexible payment methods available at checkout. If you request a full/partial refund from JetBlue's 24-hour cancellation policy or from Cancellation Protection, you'll have the refund sent back to the same payment method you used when you first made your booking.

What is the Cancellation Policy for JetBlue?

When you cancel your JetBlue flight within 24 hours of the time of booking and at least 7 days before the departure date, you won't need to pay a cancellation fee and you may receive a refund depending on the ticket type you purchased. We recommend booking refundable JetBlue flights to avoid disappointment should you need to cancel.

If you want to cancel your JetBlue booking made through Alternative Airlines, we recommend doing so during our opening hours (9am - 8pm GMT) as we'll be able to issue you your refund as long as you cancel your JetBlue flight inside the 24-hour cancellation window. Contacting us outside of our opening hours means the 24-hour window may expire before we receive your refund/cancellation request, meaning we won't be able to honour the 24-hour cancellation policy.

I've cancelled my JetBlue booking - why haven't I received a refund?

If you booked a non-refundable JetBlue ticket, you may not receive a full refund or any refund at all, even if you cancel within the 24-hour cancellation window - however, you won't be charged a cancellation fee. If you booked a refundable JetBlue ticket but contacted us outside of our operating hours, the 24-hour window may have expired and therefore we didn't receive your cancellation/refund request in time. Alternative Airlines have no choice but to adhere to JetBlue's policies and have no influence over what the airline says.

Alternative Airlines is open from 9am - 8pm UK time (GMT). If your 24-hour cancellation period for your JetBlue booking expires whilst we are closed and you contact us during this time, then you won't be entitled to a refund. You must contact us within our opening hours and allow us time to process the refund to qualify for a refund.
