Eurowings Europe is an airline and wholly-owned subsidiary of German airline group Lufthansa Group and operates using the Eurowings corporate brand and offers the same level of service as the larger Eurowings airline. The airline was founded in 2015 as part of the Lufthansa Groups expansion plans and ambitions to grow their market share within Austria. Eurowings Europe is an Austrian airline operating short-haul European services utilising a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft. Eurowings Europe adopted the corporate identity and strategy of sister airline Eurowings.
The airline only offers an economy class onboard all of their aircraft but offers numerous ticket types giving more benefits depending on the type selected and price. The airline has operating bases in Austria's Vienna and Salzburg as well as in Palma de Mallorca.
Eurowings and Eurowings Europe operate joint services across Europe, however as Eurowings Europe is primarily Austrian based the majority of their services depart from either Vienna or Salzburg. Regardless of your ticket type, you are allowed to bring one item of cabin baggage on board the aircraft with you. This must be a small personal item that doesn't exceed the dimensions of 40 x 30 x 25 cm. However, if you have purchased a Smart or Bizclass ticket then you are able to also bring a carry on case up to 8kg in weight and fitting into the size requirements of 55 x 40 x 23 cm.
Checked luggage doesn't come as standard with the airline's Basic ticket and so if you want to bring this you will need to pay for a case. However, Smart ticket holders can bring a suitcase up to 23kg and Bizclass ticket passengers are able to bring 2 cases that weigh up to 32kg each.
All ticket types allow you to check-in online before arriving at the airport. You can check-in online up to 72hrs before departure and it is recommended that you use this service if only travelling with hand luggage.
If you have selected a smart fare or above then airport check-in is an option for you. Additionally, if travelling with a Bizclass ticket then you are entitled to use the airline's priority check-in service, some frequent flyer members are able to also use this when travelling as a smart fare passenger.
Eurowings Europe only offers an economy class however, some fare types offer greater levels of comfort. All seats on board are economy style being 3x3 across and a seat pitch of 30-32". If you have selected the Bizclass fare then you can enjoy more legroom than standard ticket types. There is no in-flight entertainment or wifi so please bear that in mind before you travel.
Complimentary food and beverages are not included onboard, however, you are able to purchase these via the inflight wings bistro. A menu can be found in the seatback pocket in front of you. If travelling with a Bizclass ticket then you will receive a free meal, please choose from the wings bistro menu.
Although owned by Lufthansa, which is a Star Alliance member Eurowings Europe is not part of any airline alliance.
There are two frequent flyer programs used by the airline. Miles & More is the program used across the entire Lufthansa Group and used by numerous other airlines. Eurowings Europe also uses this program and allows for HON points to be accrued per flight. The airline also uses the mainline Eurowings frequent flyer program Boomerang Club which allows you to gain points for flights and redeem them with the airline on flights and additional services
Eurowings Europe has a fleet of 19 aircraft, however, as of October 2021, 4 are in storage, with the airline routinely using 15. The airline operates both the Airbus A319-100 as well as the slightly larger A320-200.
Eurowings Europe does not have a single hub airport but has numerous core operating bases. The airline's major bases include Vienna, Salzburg, Palma de Mallorca, Pristina and beginning from 2022 Prague and Stockholm.
