Buy Connect Airlines flights with Alternative Airlines

Connect Airlines is a startup scheduled passenger airline, based in North America. Although the company will be based in the U.S. (Boston), it will have its only and primary hub in Toronto (Canada). The airline plans on operating transborder flights, connecting Canada’s Toronto Billy Bishop City Airport with U.S. destinations, Philadelphia and Chicago. Connect Airlines will provide a premium experience, with a focus on convenience, reliability, and comfort.

Connect Airlines is being established by Waltzing Matilda Aviation (WMA), a Boston-based FAA Part 135 jet charter operator. The CEO of Waltzing Matilda Aviation is John Thomas, a former executive at Virgin Australia.

The airline will initially use De Havilland Canada DHC-8-400 aircraft when it begins flying, which have the benefit of great comfort and lower CO2 emissions.

Baggage Policy

Connect Airlines has not revealed their policy for carry-on and checked baggage.

Carry-on Baggage

Connect Airline hasn't announced any carry-on baggage allowance yet.

However, in all instances, no prohibited items should be in carry-on baggage. Prohibition items found by airport security or by the immigration department upon the arrival airport could be confiscated.

However, in all instances, checked baggage cannot weigh over 32kg due to international health and safety regulations.

If available, additional baggage can be added on to your booking when you book through flights with Alternative Airlines. Passengers booked with us can also contact our customer service team to add excess baggage after the booking has been made.

Cabin Classes

The airline has yet to announce what cabin classes (Economy, Premium, or Business, for example) will be available, as well as what the onboard experience will be like. The airline hopes to appeal to business travellers, heading cross-boarder for the day. So, passengers can likely expect a comfortable cabin. The seating in the De Havilland Canada DHC-8-400 aircraft is configured in a 2-2 formation.

Hub Airport

Toronto Billy Bishop City Airport (YTZ)

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (often referred to as Toronto Island Airport) is a small regional airport located on the Toronto Islands in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The airport is a hub for Porter Airlines and FlyGTA, two domestic carriers that connect the airport to smaller regional airports. The only other airline to fly to YTZ is Air Canada Express, which also flies domestically to Montréal–Trudeau, in Canada.

Fleet

Connect Airlines will operate De Havilland Canada DHC-8-400 aircraft, which are twin turboprop-powered regional airliners, popular for short-haul and regional flights. These aircrafts offer business style seating, with reduced noise and vibration. They're also more sustainable, producing lower CO2 emissions.
