Aztec Airways is a US airline that offers scheduled flights to international and domestic destinations. The airline is based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) and flies to several destinations within the Bahamas, as well as offering flights within Florida.
The airline was established in 1998 and has been one of the top choices for both private charter and scheduled passenger services from Florida to the Bahamas over its year of flying. All of the airline's scheduled flights depart from its hub at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE), which is where it's crew is based. But, because of its central location in South Florida, the airline is able to offer charter flights from other airports in the area, including Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale International (FLL) and Palm Beach (PBI).
As well as passenger flights, the airline also deals with worldwide cargo flights, aircraft maintenance and offers flights as part of vacation packages with adventure holiday tour operators.

Baggage Policy
Each passenger is given an overall baggage allowance of 35 pounds (15.8kg), which is included in the price of the ticket for no extra charge.

There's no specific carry-on baggage allowance. Any carry-on baggage that a passenger brings will count towards their overall baggage allowance (35 pounds).
Checked Baggage
There's no specific checked baggage allowance. Any checked baggage that a passenger brings will count towards their overall baggage allowance (35 pounds).
The complimentary baggage allowance is inclusive of all bags; if you'd like to bring extra baggage with you, you will need to purchase an additional allowance.
Fees will apply to additional items, which are charged at the rate of $2.00 per pound. All additional bags must measure smaller than 24"x13"x12, and will be accepted as space permits (which cannot be guaranteed to be on the same flight).
For overweight and oversized bags (bags that exceed 24"x13"x12"), a fee of $10 per item, plus $2.00 per pound, will be charged.

Airport Check-In
All passengers need to check-in at the airport no later than 1 hour prior to scheduled departure, unless advised otherwise by the airline.
Flights depart from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, where the airline has its own dedicated facility (Hangar 38A).

On board the flight, there is only one cabin class available: Economy Class with standard seating.

Passengers can enjoy stunning views from the windows of the plane.
The airline provides passengers with complimentary parking at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. Passengers will be provided with a parking pass when they check-in. Unfortunately, on board the plane there is no W/C facility available, although all flights are under 2 hours long.
Seats
Seats are large and comfortable. Seats are set out in either a 1 x 1 or 1 x 2 configuration.
In-Flight Entertainment & Wi-Fi
There's no in-flight entertainment or WIFI onboard Aztec Airways flights.
Passengers can use their own electronic devices (laptops & phones) providing that they're switched to airplane mode before take-off and throughout the flight.
Food & Drink
Because of the small configuration of the aircraft and short flight times, food and drink are not served on-board the flight, except bottled water. However, and passengers can purchase snacks at the terminal building before departing or bring their own snacks from home.
Special Services
The airline can provide a number of special services for those with disabilities or requiring additional assistance. It is advised to contact our customer service team before you book to avoid disappointment, as the airline may be limited in the services it can offer due to nature and configuration of the aircraft it operates.
Flying with Children
Infants under the age of 2 may be held on a parents lap. Children above the age of two will need their own seat, and are allowed to bring a car seat onboard, provided the car seat meets regulatory standards.
Flying with Pets
Pets are allowed, and can travel with their owners in the cabin. The airline will need to be informed during the booking process. For pets under 10lbs, the fee is $25; and for pets between 10 and 30lbs, the fee is $100.
All pets must travel with a carrier or muzzle, although passengers may not need to use these, a carrier or muzzle must be handy in the event that it is needed.
Passengers will need to familiarise themselves with the Bahamian entry requirements as well as the US entry requirements for returning pets - documentation will be required.

Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport
Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) is a general aviation airport, located five miles north of downtown Fort Lauderdale, in Broward County, Florida. The airport, which has two asphalt runways, is used for private charter, for flight school operations, and a limited number of scheduled services. Besides Aztec Airways, the only other airlines to use the airport include Watermakers Air, which flies to Staniel Cay, and Tropix Air Ltd, which flies to New Providence.
Fleet
The airline currently operates six aircraft: 2 Beech 18 Cargo aircraft, 3 nine-seat Piper Chieftain passenger aircraft and a Cessna Caravan 208B.
Cancellation and Change Policies
Although subject to change, the airline does not currently charge passengers who wish to change or cancel their booking up to 30 days before departure. After 30 days, the airline does charge change fees if you need to make amendments or change your booking; the fee will depend on how close the date is to departure.
