Air Santo Domingo

Air Santo Domingo (or, ‘ASD’) is an airline based in the Dominican Republic.

The airline has over 39 years of aviation experience, having previously operated both domestic and international flights to destinations including Haiti and Puerto Rico. The airline’s main market is local travelers, those who might be flying to visit family/friends.

As of 2020, Air Santo Domingo operates scheduled regional flights, although the airline is currently undertaking expansion plans and hopes to expand its route network soon.

ASD also provides private charter flights, flying to a number of domestic destinations.

Route News

Although delayed due to the Coronavirus-19 pandemic, the airline was set to commence flights from Las Américas International Airport, which is also in the Dominican Republic, to Tortola and Anguilla. It has yet to be confirmed when these flights will now commence.

The airline operates a low-cost model, but is absolutely dedicated to providing a high-class service. The Air Santo Domingo crew will ensure that passengers are as comfortable and happy during the flight as possible.

Seating

The seats are comfortable, with padded headrests and armrests. There is a storage pocket on the seat in front, with overhead storage for carry-on baggage. Seats can be pre-booked during the booking process.

Facilities

As well as complimentary snacks and drinks, passengers can enjoy the airline’s complimentary signature ‘Sapphire Class’ amenities, which was designed by the late Joseph Aron, and includes flying essentials.

During flight‚ passengers will be served complimentary drinks, and a light snack. Passengers can choose from a varied selection of soft drinks, coffee‚ and tea. Alcoholic beverages are also available to purchase.

The airline’s fleet includes the following aircraft: a BAe Jetstream 32 (HI-856), used for charter flights, and a Saab 340, which is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft and used for scheduled flights.

Hub Airport

Las Américas International Airport (SDQ)

Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) opened in 1959 and primarily serves international services from the Dominican Republic. From the airport, passengers can take both international and limited domestic flights to other Caribbean islands, Europe, North America and South America.

Air Santo Domingo used to use Santo Domingo La Isabela Airport as its primary hub, however, it later moved its operations to Las Americas. The other airlines that also base their operations from SDQ include Sky High and Sky Cana.
