Buy Aeromexico Contigo Flights with Alternative Airlines

Aeroméxico Contigo is a Mexican airline that flies passenger flights. The airline is a subsidiary of Mexico's flag carrier, Aeroméxico, and flies within Mexico, as well as links Mexico with destinations within the US, with a focus on destinations within California. The airline has two bases — one at Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) and the other at Mexico City International Airport (MEX), although, it flies from various destinations within Mexico. Overall, the airline flies to more than 10 destinations.

The airline launched in 2013 as a subsidiary of Aeroméxico, designed to help the mainline carrier with some of its busier routes, such as Guadalajara to Los Angeles, Leon-Baijo to San Francisco and Morelia to Chicago. When first launching, Aeroméxico Contigo's service was more similar to full-service than it was to a low-cost carrier, with in-flight extras included within the price of their ticket, including free meals and baggage. However, with the demand for low-cost carriers increasing and airlines such as Volaris dominating the routes that Aeroméxico Contigo flies, the airline switched its in-flight offering to fly as a low-cost airline, minimising its costs and allow it to offer flight tickets at a lower price.

Baggage Policy

Aeroméxico Contigo's baggage allowance will differ depending on the route being flown and the fare purchased.

The maximum dimensions for a single piece of carry-on baggage are 21.5 x 15.7 x 10 inches (55 x 40 x 25 cm).

The maximum linear dimensions for checked baggage are 62 "(158 cm).

Cabin Classes

Aeroméxico Contigo's plane is split into two different cabins — Economy Class and Business Class.

The Economy Class cabin offers the minimum needed for the flight, with a 'seat only' fare for those that are only interested in travelling from A to B, with none of the extra frills.

The Business Class cabin gives a more luxurious service, with added extras such as larger baggage allowances, wider and more spaced out seats and more.

There's no in-flight entertainment or WIFi on any of the airline's flights.

Food & Drink

As a low-cost airline, Aeroméxico Contigo doesn't offer a free meal service unless passengers are flying in Business Class.

For Economy Class passengers, food and drink are available to purchase once in-flight, with a range of snacks and drinks. The menu regularly changed throughout the year but passengers can expect a choice hot and cold sandwiches, savoury and sweet snacks, water, juices, alcoholic, non-alcoholic and hot and cold drinks.
